Some nice venues there, but still nothing anywhere near the North West despite all the suggestions I've previously posted.... a 3 hour drive at <20mpg makes it so much more difficult to contemplate attending
Would love to go Sunday with my brother Audi RS3 and BMW M2RossP said:
A friend is 716 on the list. In my experience there are usually enough dropouts that he'll make it onto the main list. How does that work with the passes going out today?
I've just sent the email out so we normally see a few drop outs. I'll send it out again tomorrow PM to anyone else that has made it onto the list.Hi Ben, I am on the list for Sunday mornings meeting having signed up pretty early. Just realised that my registered email address is an old one that’s defunct, so not received any messages. Any chance I could be sent the instructions as a PM?
I have just sent a change of email request, but assuming it won’t get dealt with until Monday?

Forgive me, I've not organised anything like this, but feedback from my first time, all in good spirits, I enjoyed my visit
I was gagging for a coffee by the time I got there, no sign of a van to serve some brekkie either. I imagine with 700 cars you had 1000+ people, so I can imagine it'd be worth having 1 at least. I'd have coughed up £7 for a coffee and sausage bap. Just look at the queues of people at the scrambles to know they'll get used.
It'd also be good to have a stand maybe, people can go to for any questions, or talk to the big boys of PH. I also saw no sort "staff" type tops if you wanted help, only the people doing the car park (one of which I asked for directions to coffee!).
It was great that it was informal and people were coming and going at their leisure, but a little bit of direction isn't always bad, both literally and physically!
And free stuff, obvs.

Thanks for this and for coming along for your first Sunday Service! The event article and the email sent out a few days before did specifically state that the cafe would only be accessible with entry to the museum, hence no outside catering this time I'm afraid.I was gagging for a coffee by the time I got there, no sign of a van to serve some brekkie either. We haven't had a PH stand with merchandise for sale since 2018, however this is something we're looking at bring back this year. Good to know it's being missed and thanks for coming along!

I know it’s probably a pain having stock sat in the corner not being sold but even if it’s just the low cost of some stickers and mugs I’m sure you’d get good sales. Pretty sure I’ve got a whole stash of stickers and mugs maybe I need to sell them also days like Seat UK umbrellas would have sold well (last time I saw umbrellas for sale was probably a sunny day at BMW HQ! A merch stand is more than just merch, it's a base for people to go talk to staff, ask questions, flyers for other events, banners, photo ops etc. Banners every end of rows of cars so it's in every photo published to SM. hashtag that isn't linked to gospel groups!
I'm sure I'm telling you how to suck eggs, just seems lots of missed opportunities to publicise yourselves!

Appreciate the reply, and I imagine you had to stick to their rules. But I'm not buying a ticket to go to a cafe! They missed an opportunity of having a someone outside (or not in the paid for area) selling coffee and some basic food.

It didn't seem like a missed opportunity because they were oversubscribed.A merch stand is more than just merch, it's a base for people to go talk to staff, ask questions, flyers for other events, banners, photo ops etc. Banners every end of rows of cars so it's in every photo published to SM. hashtag that isn't linked to gospel groups!

What does that matter? It doesn't matter if 100 cars turn up or 1,000 cars turn up, the points made below stand regardless of how popular or unpopular the particular event is.Typically people turn up either on their own or with a friend, have a look at the cars, pop into the museum, grab a bite to eat and then go home. Far more conversation with fellow owners would be had if there was a base to have a chat. Totally agree with the below it's not about the actual merch, it's about having a central point. People aren't just going to stand by their cars with the bonnet up waiting for someone to approach for a chat - but they would chat to fellow owners if there was a PH gazebo & coffee van or something similar.
Nothing about The British Motor Museum SS shouted 'Pistonheads'. It could have been a random gathering of cars turning up to a meet posted on the local FB page.

TBH - Conversation happens at the cars, rather than at a central point but I do agree a focal point, to say "This is Pistonheads" would be nice.Gaydon has an interesting cluster of 'interest' which could have been exploited too. Next door you have JLR, Aston, a big test track, etc...
