Hi Ben

Will anyone official from bmw/mini uk be on site to answer any questions?
Specifically About my Mini JCW R59 roadster ?

Apparently they (BMW @ Farnborough) are the 1st registered owners of my car (BMW UK) which I believe is the 1st production or even a pre-production chassis by the serial number ending 001

So it would be good if they could help me to dig up some more pre-history as it appears to have spent most of its time in Germany prior to my purchase from a mini dealer 6 years after production in 2018, I am the 2nd owner.

25th Year "Anniversary" of PH so you have so far 12 events for the year broken down into -

2x events in France - limited numbers able to go

1x Thursday night trackday in Norfolk - limited numbers able to go

6x events in the South East with the furthest North of those being 1hr South of Birmingham

1x event in Yorkshire

For such a huge anniversary on such a large forum filled with people from all over the UK, with that line-up PH are effectively telling many of their forum users "unless you are willing to travel a million miles or live in the South East, its just tough that you can't come" which is a pretty odd thing to do for all the forum people in Wales, Scotland, Northern England etc who don't get to take part in any of these events.

I tried to be "nice" about this subject earlier in this thread (posted about 6 months ago) when the list wasn't complete yet, hoping that the rest of the UK might, maybe, possible, get a shot but nope, the vast majority of the events are still being set in SE England, heavily limiting the wide range of forum users who can take part in this 25th Year Anniversary.

The vast majority of events where the vast majority of people are? How very surprising... I'm from the North but you can't be mad at a company for not organising free events near you, it's not a service you pay for so you can't even ask for a refund... You could arrange another car show near you?

Take the motorist in May as an example, space for 1,000 cars. 377 registered (and I suspect less than that turned up with dropouts), Mercedes Benz world in March had 400 spaces and 484 registered and with dropouts you'd have still hit capacity (they were turning cars away!). There is just not the draw as you go past the midlands. There’s also the time and cost of getting the PH staff there which has to be accounted for.

If it’s that much of an issue sort out a venue and post on here and see how many come…….

Both of these miss the very clear point I am making - PH25 should be something lots of people "around the UK" should be able to attend so forum members from around the whole UK can take part in PH25 celebrations, not just those centred in the SE.

PH members live in places like Scotland, or Wales, or Cornwall, or Newcastle etc etc etc and virtually will all miss out on PH25 meets solely because PH has decided to ignore those areas. These wouldn't needed to have been massive 500+ member car meets, something smaller for maybe just a few hundred would have been perfectly fine as it should be all about sharing PH25 celebrations around with as many forum members in as many different parts of the UK as possible.

This also feeds into the, frankly stupid to me, idea from both above of "well start your own then", which, yet again, utterly misses the point that "THIS IS ABOUT PH25!" and not about me not having my own car meet nearby.

Anyway, this is all moot by now as PH have already made their decision for where PH25 celebrations are going to occur. These few posts were mainly giving PH my feedback on that decision.

Your point isn’t valid as this website is international. So I feel very offended that PH25 is not having an event in America where probably more members are from than Stoke.

I don't live in Stoke now and haven't for decades so it's not about where I live (I'm in West Norfolk now BTW), its about pointing out my disappointment that PH has decided not to share PH25 with the forum as a whole and instead concentrate on just the SE.

That is a very simple to understand point which you refuse to acknowledge, instead seemingly getting utterly stuck in a logic loop of "he's complaining because there's nothing near him", when all my posts have been about the rest of the UK not just myself. I respect your posts in Aviation topics but boy you really seem to struggle to understand that simple point here.

Anyway, I feel I'm spamming this thread now so I'll stop replying .
