Was yours the BRG Cooper S?
The brakes on mine were pretty and good be fair; they felt ok at the time. It wasn’t until I had an R56 courtesy car that I realised how bad they were. Fun little cars though. Mine just felt big and heavy on the way up there; the last corner scared the hell out of me to be fair.
Yes BRG CS white mirrors/roof. Every corner scared me! Felt as though I was never going more than 7 tenths. Forgot to turn the traction control off a couple of times and it bogged down off the line as the wheels started spinning. The brakes on mine were pretty and good be fair; they felt ok at the time. I was there with the MX-5 lot - a grand day out indeed!
I've never done anything like that before and it was loads of fun. I definitely have an increased appreciation of those properly competing. How someone can cross the finish line in 38 secs is deeply impressive.
I got chatting to one of the marshalls who was saying that the current record is below 35 secs and that they were doing north of 100mph by the footbridge across the track. He was also talking about a rally stage held there last year, racing up at night in the dark.I've never done anything like that before and it was loads of fun. Just been looking at the programme from yesterday and found it's got a listing of the fastest runs each year since the course opened:
Current record is 34.65 secs
In a rally car in darkness, it's 46.76 secs.
Here’s a scooby - I managed to get with someone else’s flash - from a video shot…!!
What great fun… lived here all my life - it’s the 1st time I’ve driven up the hill…!!!
Won’t be the last now though :-))

I think we were parked up by you (I was in the grey 335i) and was behind you on our fourth runs up the hill. illmonkey said:

Good half day out (only got there at lunch). Well o(rganised and good fun to watch people give it a go. Nice to see a PH stand and some jumpers about the place too (I suggest this last time!).
I took a lot of photos, 800 or so. I've ditched a lot, as I'm crap, the rest are in the link below. Shot in RAW, happy to pass them along if you want. Man maths dictates the issue is with my old gear, not me!
MDifficult, there are 3 blurry ones of you going past me included. I've left the following photos off, but happy to add them if you are, or can email them. They're nothing special, just sore wounds and all that (and a video of the removal )
Big thanks to the 4 or so lads who helped bump start my 2002 too! Made it home without stalling it.

Really enjoyed the day. I had not been to Prescott Hill Climb before, but will certainly return and would love a go up the hill.
Shelsley Walsh is local to me and I've been many times, including their 'driving school' which gets you quite a few runs up the hill over a day. I see Prescott offer similar, so will have to do that sometime (although already looks booked solid 2023).
I took my Mk1 MX5 which coped just well enough with the mucky field! Wasn't expecting it to be so cold though, the sun arrived just a little too late in the day. I think driving there with the top down didn't help. Thank God I had an extra couple of layers. I drove home with the top up and heater blasting, basking in the heat!
Some lovely cars going up the hill. Loved the brap brap brapping of the rotary RX8 - I think it wins the best idling sound of the day. The white 911 was an absolute screamer on the hill and that might take my pick for the best flat out sound. The Supras and the infamous 2JZ trumpeting fanfare were a close second for me.

Sound wise, white 911 and then the Exiges. Off the line and also coming off the throttle for the hairpin. Glorious.Twinair said:

A few of my faves in the event review here. I've come away from the event with a hankering for a Volvo V50 T5 estate and a S2 Exige...

Thanks for posting that.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3Loqa7158Q&t=...
The commentators were chatting about your GoPro on a stick during your run, they said they hoped you would be putting it on YouTube for all to see as they didn’t know how it would turn out.
The view reminds me of a driving game on an early games console.
Sounds like you all had a great day! Anyone got the bug, thinking of the next step and competing? If you want any info or advice either PM me or reply to this thread, I'll keep an eye on it. For those interested the next event at Prescott is the British Hillclimb Championship on 23rd April, this is where you can see the top cars doing 35 second runs if it's dry, it's a sight worth seeing at least once. If you're really committed, you can watch a live stream too! https://www.youtube.com/@HillClimbTV

I've found a photographer that was shooting the day, I've suggested that he post on here as I'm sure there's lots of people like myself that would like to at least take a look at the pictures he got.

You would have seen me come back down too as I got red flagged due to the Atom in the trap. I think I saw you on the home run going up the A46/435 unless that was different grey BMW coupe of similar vintage.
Yup, I was behind you for the final run, when the Atom decided to try off-roading…. and yes, we did see you on the way home too.Gassing Station | Events & Meetings | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
