Hiya

I have decided to postpone Sundays run as some people can't make it now and my Lotus is running a bit hot and I dont fancy my chances in London traffic until I get it sorted.

Watch this space for a new date....................

Car's okay.
I dont think the fans are kicking in so when it gets hot there's no cooling it down once you are in traffic. Not a chance I was willing to take.
It's due for a service. Will be booking it in on Monday.

There must be something in the air

My Lotus is now!

SOME NUMPTY DROVE INTO THE BACK OF IT

I wasn't even in it, I was in the house having a cup of tea and it was parked safely on the drive... heard a crunch, thought "Oh no!!" looked out the window to see my ex boyfriend trying to reverse his pickup truck round and thought "Oh, it's alright, he's hit the wall" then realised he was looking at the back of my Lotus and shouting "Oh B@!!@CKS!!!"

Took it straight up to Lotus... they took one look and said "Yeah, you're gonna need a new rear clam mate"

Aaaaaaaarrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Mandy I am really sorry for you.

You must be gutted

If he wasn't your ex before he did it - he deserved to be after

Thanks Lorraine

I'm annoyed but I'm not really cross with him, he didn't do it on purpose, it's just one of those things

I think he was hoping to be able to pay himself, so that he didn't have to put it through his insurance but it's going to cost thousands, now I feel terrible cos he's gonna lose his no-claims and his insurance'll go up. His wife's gone up the wall and want's me to take it somewhere cheaper and get it repaired but I have full Lotus history with the car and everything that's ever been done has been by Lotus and I'm not happy about taking it anywhere else. I don't want it repaired, I've been told (and I've seen it before) that because the crack's have gone right through to the back, the repair could reappear in the future and crack again so the whole clam should be replaced so he's gonna have to put it through his insurance.

Oh Boy

Hi Mandy
The fact is he did it whether he meant to or not. Thats what you get insured for.
If it had been someone you didn't know - you wouldn't have worried about it.
If he makes the mistake then he has to pay for it. If you had driven into someone else you would have to lose your no-claims bonus.

Life's a Bitch.

I wouldn't compromise on where I took the car. If you dont have it done properly then YOU will lose money and it wasn't even your fault.

My advice is - do what you have to do to make the car as it was before he drove into it.

As for his wife - she should be having a go at him - not you
