Not sure how many members back then are still here but we did a run to a school fete, good weather, fantastic country roads and about 12,000 BHP - what a day. Have to say I liked it so much I moved from London to the area.
So how about a part 2 on Saturday 17th June :- there's a Fete in Upper Chute (SP11 9EB) about and hour down the M4 from London, easily accessible from anywhere in Hants. As well as the usual beer tent, hog roast, cakes and pies, games etc I'm organising a sports and classic 'show' where the cars will be parked in a cirlce round an chinook so should be some good photos.
Already going are 2*GT3's, Lambo Guiardo (sp?), Bently continental GT, DB7 Vantage, a Cerbera and a few really old MG's (pre A).
If your interested let me know (post on here) and I'll organise a few run ins from Newbury and Basingstoke.

I'm away a lot for the next few weeks otherwise I'd volunteer a little help for the Basingstoke run. A good place to start from is the Basingstoke Leisure Centre - first car park on the left. Visible from the road it makes finding the start point easier.
There are some lovely country runs as well - no need to use the main roads.
Have a lovely day - I will definitely try and make it!

Of course I remember it! I had a small hand in the planning of the route for that one.
This sounds like a good idea - I'll check calendars with Mrs Whatever, but we should be ok for this.
It'll make a nice day out for the us & the kids in the family car (i.e. cerb )
ETA: kids are otherwise engaged that day might come on my own...

Well for those interested a little further info :-
Planned meet is 13:00 at the Fete site, I'll post directions on here early next week. The chopper is due in at 14:00 and until then there is a beer tent, venison BBQ, Archery etc. I have a Zonda as one of the confirmed cars (12 cars to date) so should be a top line up.
The more the merrier, post here if interested and I will organise run ins from either Chievly services (M4) or Basingstoke.
Currently hoping that we get another 8-10 cars so don't be shy.

Well the weather forecast is top, 23 to 25 and Sunny.
The plan is to meet at the fete ground at 13:00. The helicopter is due in at 14:00 so we'll park away from the landing zone to avoid getting sand blasted by the down draft. I'm more than happy to drive out in either direction and lead people in, if you want to do that drop me an email via the profile.
Directions are listed for those that want to come under thier own steam. First rounds on me, hope to see you there.
From the M4
At Junction 13 of the M4, turn off on to the A34 towards Newbury. Continue for approx 7 miles, turning onto the A343 just after the ‘Hampshire’ sign. Follow the signs to Highclere. From Highclere, continue until you reach Hurstbourne Tarrant (5 miles). Turn right to Upton at the sharp left hand bend. Go through the villages of Ibthorpe, Upton and Vernham Dean. Having left Vernham Dean, turn left up the hill signposted Conholt Park, Tangley and Andover. Continue until you see another ‘Hampshire’ sign and turn right at the signpost marked Clanville and Weyhill. Take the next right signposted ‘The Chutes’. You will arrive first at a sign for Chute Cadley but continue into Lower Chute. Turn right at the War Memorial and follow the road round with the Hatchet Inn on your right. Take the left turn opposite the pub and up the hill. The Fete entrance for the car show is on the left and will be sign posted
From the A303
Leave the A303 at the junction just to the west of Andover that joins the A342. Get on the A342 and take the exit to your left signosted Weyhill, Fyfield and Ludgershall. Continue into Weyhill and look for the Texaco garage on your left. Almost immediately (before the roundabout), turn right to Clanville and Vernham Dean. At the crossroads, go straight over. Continue along this road for 3 miles, you will pass through Clanville, and turn left at the crossroads (unmarked) to The Chutes. This road will lead you straight into Lower Chute (approx 1 mile). Follow the road round to the left and the Hatchet Inn will be on your right. Take the left turn opposite the pub and up the hill. The more the merrier, just found out that there may be a problem with some of the more exotic cars. They are all owned by one family who have had a recent bereavement so may be fewer than first thought.
Still sun's supposed to be out and theres still the TVR's, Porsche's and some good classics for the kiddies to stare at.

What would you like ot know. Usual score, various stalls (including Cakes and beer), Venison BBQ, Archery, dog show, Chinook, cars and a good country pub. I believe there will be a few country activity type stalls making willow hurdles and gates etc but not sure they'll fit in the car....
I check this thread first thing Staturday morning and answer any specifcs.
