I need you all to talk to the Father in Law in how to make the Uber-bus into an Uber-Uber-bus.
I wouldn't want his mid-life crisis to go without having properly been stupid. 450bhp is nothing it seems now. I want to see 600bhp.
It will be my pleasure, Neil: I'd like to think one or two people might experience this 'beastie' first hand and perhaps soften their opposition to it because despite EVO mag's 'Murrayite' position on such 'abberations' it remains a tour de force to be celebrated, imho.

I've been trying to hype it all up, and if I mention that it'll get him going .
It additionally has the Uber brake upgrade (which are hooooooooge) and (depending on which way you swing) Footballer Wives wheels (porsche spec).
I'm sure DMS are the people to sort out the <500bhp issue?

Talking to my colleague from the wrong side of the Pennines, (Heinrich von MOD500), his banzai banana 993tt sounds to have morphed beyond most things known to man...
It would seem that boost levels and some very, very serious engine work, combined with an exhaust system designed by Odin himself, have produced a vehicle of such sublime promise that I'm not sure sufficient dilithium exists to offer up an even theoretical retort.
Some of the figures coming back from the modifiers are little short of alarming.
I think flames are involved!

Acceleratively, maybe, just maybe but that car has a generally accepted power circa 630bhp which, when delivered by such a light, aerodynamic package, will mean 993s hoping to be in with a snifter are going to need major surgery and certified stickers with figures like '700' printed on 'em!
There is another bloke who prefers not to be mentioned by name and keeps his cards very close to his chest from a developmental point of view but whom, I suspect, given the time, money and bloody minded commitment expended to date probably has the ultimate 993 in the UK today: this car, originally a 993tt, has received the full GT2 makeover, including a reversion to rwd and more tweaks than almost anyone can keep up with (or is willing to divulge.)
Martyn reckons this car makes his example feel ponderous () and I suspect were this character to attend V-Max, he might give Guy something to think about but even then, you simply cannot underestimate the hinderance caused by the 993's upright windscreen above 170/180.
Doing these speeds in a 996 is quite exciting but relatively stress free: certainly in my car, it feels like something Houdini might of been musing as he went over The Niagra Falls in a wooden barrel!
Guy's exploits at Brunters remain the standard bearer afaic: I mean, pulling away from Angus's enhanced SL65 AMG down the first straight?
Divine madness...

.. are you aware that some race cars of the era had low-drag screens, with a less steeply raked glass?
Are you suggesting the temporary adoption of something cunning, affixed with gaffa tape?
Haven't we been there before...?
As DeR says, the banana would need much more fire power to keep with with a RUF'ed 996.
To explain the high-ish boost numbers mentioned. The mapping on my car by RS Tuning has an overboost feature where by upon mashing the throttle once the boost hits its average peak value (1.0 - 1.1 bar in lower gears, 1.1 bar to 1.2 bar in higher gears) dependent on the many variables read by the ecu, the ecu allows the engine to over boost for a few secs before bringing the boost back down to the average peak reading. I have found you get the most over boost when you are crusing along steay state and then drop a cog or two and floor it, since the engine is 'cooler' and hence can 'take' more boost before calling time.
The best reading so far is 1.45 bar in 5th, which to be honest felt like it was going to take off
Also, the uber 993 mentioned is by far the most ferocious thing I have ever had the good fortune to drive.

Or you could get really serious, and take out front and rear screens.

I seem to recall the extra weight of all the tape led to a 1mph reduction in Vmax
Years ago father took a lot of pictures at motor racing circuits around Europe... and I've definately seen a low-drag screen in a picture. I'll see if I can dig it out...
