Well it's this time of the year... Gatebil at Rudskogen raceway... The July trackday is scandinavias biggest car event and attracts as much as 35 000 people. As usual the cars and the (much) of the driving was insane. The event lasted from Friday and ended on Sunday afternoon. I was there only on Sunday, like I use to. I arrived there at 9 am to avoid the big ques, and to get plenty of time to walk around, and take pictures at the stands, before the action starts at 12:00, first with some showing off on motorbikes then some cars drifting. Then there is the Racing extreme series (Won by Quarnis with his insane Porsche) and after that the big powerslide competition (Won by Hafsengen in the Escort WRC) The weather was lovely, so lovely that I got sunburned in fact.

This Audi Sportquattro was hugely fast, and sounded glorious.

A carefully styled and supercharged BMW E-46 M3

Here is the chief arranger's car. A Ford Escort Cosworth that used to be a rallycross car. It's got an 872 bhp Cosworth engine. He drove it rather briskly aroun the track...

This is the car that won the powersliding competition, Stian Hafsengen with his Escort WRC.

The car the won the racing extreme series, Jocke Quarnström's Porsche 911, called It's Fun 3. Extremely modified, the only part of it left standard is the ignition key...

I know this isn't a "post-yourself-thread", but I kindly asked the owner if I cold sit in it. It was like a race car, deep bucket seats, lots of rollcage everywhere, very focused driving position, light but solidpedal feel, allthough the gearchange was so hard it felt like a tractor's gearchange, I really had to use some force on it.

Now that's a 500 hp Kawazaki ZX12R...

A tubular space framed Volvo 360 with an 800 hp Audi ABY engine. That engine used to be in his red Uruattro, dynoed at 916 hp in that car.

Simon Norris from Bath in England brought his Lancer EVO, that car went insanely fast, at it was perhaps the loudest car there (says a lot...)

A Viper with a supercharges LS1.

A Ford Granada with a 1700 hp twin turbo pro-mod engine...

A Pontiac TA with a pretty large engine...

A 680 hp 993 GT2.

Awesome pics there. The show certainly is impressive to say the least. Been watching it the past few years, esp Hans Dahlbacks antics

If they drive this car, then yes... All I managed to gather was that this car was driven by someone who had won a round in the british D1 drift championship. (Donnington I think...)
