Sunday 10th September

This is one I have organised annually for the Lotus Esprit Forum. I figured there's only a half dozen or so cars this time so I really should give a little back here since I've had two great hoons out of you lot! ;-D

************************************

As ever it's the first weekend AFTER school starts back! <"Muuu-uuumm... can we go Alton Towaz?!" "NO! You've just had 6 bloody weeks off and have only just started back at school!">

Normally I arrrange a group booking but this year, due to time, I'm afraid it's going to be every man for himself! There are 2 for 1 offers on bottles of Fanta, so get looking for them ASAP as I think they may be coming to an end!

Parking is hopefully a rather steep £10 - but this is only if there is still, the specific "priority" parking. We get there at the crack of dawn to be certain of getting the spaces right by the entrance, under the monorail. This also causes much interest from the plebs who usually become window-lickingly attached to the train windows, taking pics! It also means we can stay as late as we like as we dont need the monorail to get back to the car park. If it's door-bumping-pleb-parking then it's £4.

The doors open at 9:30 with the rides starting at 10. We usually get there way too early but hey! Best to get there by 9 at the latest imho to be on the safe side - esp given the possible parking changes. It gives us all an hour to meet up and chat and check each other's cars out The sensible thing was always to run straight to the fast track ticket booth, get a ticket for (say) Nemesis, all pile on straight onto Air and then use the fast track ticket to be sure of getting straight on Nemesis! That way, the two most queued rides are sorted in about half an hour.

I must say I am particularly looking forward to the Runaway Mine Train ride which will be slightly more white knuckled than ever, given recent events! Pahahahah! ...and the cable cars! ...and of course Hex! (Which is a particular favourite of mine after the Laser Shoot out Ghost Train!)

Here is the LEW write up from the first one.

The hope always is, that given it's fairly central location, all except the Scots and Cornish had no excuse!

Pre-Meets and runs get arranged locally but there's a Newport Pagnell meet at 7am for the Southerners and then one for the Northerners! Anyone coming from the west / south west or North, please feel free to arrange your meets I shall update if someone arranges something over on the Lotus Esprit Forum

SO?

WHO'S COMING?!

(Judging by the resoudning silence, no one here is interested! lol )

However,

FWIW... I have confirmed the "VIP" Parking is available - yes it costs £10 but it

1) Keeps us separate from all the door bumping, SUV driving, chavvy plebs + sticky fingered brats!

2) Gets us RIGHT by the front gate

3) Let's us show off childishly as all, said plebs, pass in front of the cars on the ScumShovel (Monorail) before being ejected at the entrance.

4) Means we can dither as late as we like on the gorunds as we don't need the aforementioned Monorail to return to the scum parking.

I did suggest that one year, we send whoever has the best camera and the shortest straw, around the entire loop on the monorail to get some cool photos of the cars from above!

(Shame my camera's so shite! :P )

Well I have been invited to this before as I am in the Lotus World.

Might be able to make it but I might be off doing something else. On this day a good friend of mine hopes to climb Ben Nevis (for the first time) carrying a toilet on his back for charity. Having done the mountain myself and half again just recently this is one heck of a challenge! Well wishes will be sent from wherever I am and I just thought I'd share the info with you too!
