I saw the Midnight Tunnel Run on channel four the other night and liked what I saw. I cant wait to test out my ride in those tunnels. Ive booked an opointment at the end of the month to have a powerflow exhaust all the way through fitted. Want to test it at the next run.
Anyone know when the next one is?
Cheers Byron....

If it's in mid to late October, I might be interested in dragging the Esprit alone.

Really don't mean any offence in any way shape or form, but you might need to establish yourself on here and get to know a few people. The tunnel run went underground for exactly this reason. Do some searches on it and get to know the people involved, then I'm sure you'll be welcome. Do you know any other PHers involved with the tunnel run? Any that can vouge for you?

Just about to post a similar line on this. Guys the next run is pretty booked to be honest, in the final stages and indvidual groups/teams have been arranged and before you ask I don't know and could not tell you the meet points...as participants we only find out a day or so before. Plus as a London Tunneller we are not allowed to reveal any meet points, run points or pretty much anything about the planned run (to avoid aggro on the night).

The run on Vroom Vroom was the April run, which I was a participant and yes it was very good, but on Vroom Vroom you only really got a taster of what is involved.

As Polarbert points out, the best way onto the run now is through getting to know members on here, plus you have the other runs which are still pretty open... i.e. Essex meet, Surrey meet and the new Kent run (which both Barry_J and myself are trying to get off the ground).

Of those that attended the first Kent run, we had 3 attendee's that were interested in joining the London Tunnellers, that I vouched for, for the next tunnel run, as I could provide recommendation from their driving behaviour on the Kent run.

One piece of advice I would suggest is that on any of the runs, the London run included is that the organisers seek sensible individuals with an appreciation of driving, the machinery and the UK road laws.

Hope that helps. It's not meant to be as heavy as it sounds, but their was some grief on previous runs and that's why it went underground (excuse the overused pun).

The Kent run is a spirited drive through some good stretches of Kent with a finish at a nice pub with good food so we can have a chat and to be honest most runs/meets are about the socialising aspect as well as the driving aspect. I am guessing that JCT29 is of the same vein.

We have plans afoot for the next Kent run which hopefully will be happening in October, keep an eye on this forum for the next Kent run, you are more than welcome to attend. Just email either myself or Barry_J and we will update you once plans are "cast in stone". thumbup

Heh heh, sorry to hear that but I laughing because on the last run my catalytic converter died a death and my Z went into limp home mode. Thankfully I am still under BMW warranty so they are putting a new one on tomorrow, so she will be back on form. Funny thing was me removing the K&N this morning (prior to dropping her off at the stealers) so I didn't accidently invalidate my warranty boxedin

Heaven forbid!! Heh

I can safely say the Kent run was a blast and a half! 3 3/4 hours of being on the ball and having a laugh.... and no hooliganism!

To re-iterate a lot of what has already been said;
> It doesn't matter what car you drive to be involved with the London Tunellers.
> What does matter is how you drive it!!
> As with all runs some runners do enjoy an element of "spirited driving" but this is not required to partake in the run.
> What is absolutely not tollerated is dangerous, reckless, stupid driving or plain showing off.

The reason for all of this caution by the Tunnellers is that there have been instances of cars being on the boarder of being in control near cars where 3 of the cars which risked being hit had a combined value in excess of £1m and there were people standing as well who were in equal danger.

There are nearly always "tunnellers" at other runs organised through PH so as suggested it's best you go to those runs and get "known" and get to know who is in the Tunnellers. (current membership stands at over 500 - so it shouldn't be too hard to spot them)

Hi all,

Ok this is my first post on the PH forums!

I found the forum through the HSV owners club. My old man has a 2000 GTS-R.

Anyway, I digress. I've mentioned this run to a couple of the members of the Delorean Owners Club (www.deloreans.co.uk) and we'd really like to attend.

I realise why this has to be kept down in numbers. If anyone from the organisers could get in touch that would be fantastic.

.... um well my first... and last was back in may and have to admit i stuck my foot in it right at the start when i went round the m25 j6(i think) roundabout 1 too many times. next time i saw the others was at canary wharf, having come into ldn from the east, via the dartford tunnel etc, at 90mph all the way!... 1/2 way round i had to head back to dorset as mine was starting to grumble. a powerful, modern, fast beast will help but even with 200hp (in 2001) mine still seemed to be the slowest and it was def the oldest! although it did achieve what i'd brought it to the ldn tunnels for: one of the best sounds in a tunnel that night
