Shooting and driving, Fri 29th Sept: GB vs. USA vs. Germany
Discussion
Directions/instructions for tomorrow are below. Please try and be there for 08:15.
THERE IS STILL ROOM FOR 1-2 MORE PEOPLE TO JOIN IF THEY CAN GET TOMORROW MORNING OFF WORK - just e-mail me a home address (for the theoretical police check) and I'll bring money (£160) on the day.
We will meet at the London & Middlesex Rifle Association (check into the thread later today in case that changes) at Bisley Camp, near Brookwood in Surrey (GU24 0PA).
Bisley Camp can be found on the map link below. Coming from the M3, use Queen's Road from the A322; coming from the A3, leave the A322 at Fox Corner, just after Worplesdon, and follow the yellow road through Pirbright:
www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=4
Once on camp, you get to the LMRA like this (scroll down after following link):
www.lmra.co.uk/content/index.php?o
Timings as follows:
08:15 Meet; coffee and bacon butties available (+ trying to arrange alternative for Lee)
08:45 Briefing (incl. safety) from Captain of Great Britain Rifle Team
09:00 Shoot 1
10:15 Shoot 2
11:30 Shoot 3
12:30 Lunch & prize-giving
Afternoon on the roads
The team you are in will determine the order in which you do the following shoots:
* Clay pigeon on the Commonwealth Games facility
* Black powder pistol
* Target rifle on the 1000 yards range
I've taken the liberty of dividing people up according to country of origin of their cars, so that the teams "make sense". Let me know if you have any objections.
If one extra person joins (in which case it's ESSENTIAL you tell me now!), I will fill the other spot to even up numbers. If two more join, I may move one or two people so that those who know each other are together throughout the shooting and not just at breakfast and lunch.
Suggested teams:
USA
parklane - Corvette
Y50 VET - Corvette
godzilla - Corvette Z06
V8D - Corvette
erikthevetking - Corvette Z06
[cheeky - Corvette Z06]
Great Britain

Hey I saw you guys today. It was around 1.30pm. I was in the green Elise S1 coming the other way as you guys had parked up on the side of the road. I noticed the Corvette and then all the TVR's, especially the black Tamorra so I slowed and had a look at your cool cars. You guys must had just come from under the bridge, turned right and then parked up a little further on by the cottages. I then drove past the Bisley Shooting range and my wife saw the Pistonheads sign.
Hope you all had a great day.

Yeah I must have just been in front of you on the M25, the heavens opened just before the M23, couldn't really stop due to the road works, so got a little wet and a few funny looks from other drivers
Great way to spend a Friday.
