Hello All,

Have had a look through a few historical posts and can't find a definitive answer - whats the noise limits at Brunters and is there a static test at the start / drive-by test during the day?

Cheers

James,

Nice fleet of cars!!

<sigh> tricky one this. In short, we don't want to take the piss, as Bruntingthorpe / VMAX is one of the last bastions of good banter / decent company / ability to rag the tits off your car legitimately left.

Its like this: the owner of Bruntingthorpe has been damn decent to us all over the time that VMAX has existed, and its not in our interest to sour that relationship. Several VMAXs ago (2 or 3, I can't remember), we had several cars that were heard in the nearby village, complaints of which were received by the owner.

At the next VMAX we were all subjected to a static noise meter, and several persons who showed up were not allowed to run. All I'll say is that this noise test wasn't exactly scientific, although the lady wielding the noise meter had a terrific arse, resulting in several protagonists asking for retests, partly for confirmation, mostly for nothing else that to have another bloody good look!! hehe

I digress; at the last event we had no noise metering at all, although the owner generally shows up once or twice during the day to make sure we're all behaving ourselves. He's a decent chap if you get to speak to him - normally in a liveried E39 M5.

So to answer your question, don't take the piss, and you'll have a great day.

ATB,
Greg

Or in an XJ220. The last one i attended had no noise tests so i did not get to see this womans cute rear end, however i always take it easy for the couple of miles up to Brunters so as not to annoy the local folk.

That was bloody quick. Only got off the phone with Simon about 10mins ago.

They have had a little play under the hood. DMS applied some new code last week & she's running very well.

Thanks for the info gents - I've no intention of compromising anyone's day - my first Vmax - the AC Cobra is quite loud and wanted to see if there is any comparable levels for it.

Looking forward to the day - will be heading up the M1 so will look out for other Vmaxers
