..hopefully the thieving pikey scum who stole my pans/food/beer/cutlery/glasses etc will experience their mother dying in a freak yachting accident
You should have hung around until the end. I ended up throwing away many of those items which had been left behind (I kept the beer and apples pies though ).
I had to leave beer (Tanglefoot, no less) when we left as there was physically no room in the car for it. Gave it to some young whippersnappers with a conversation that went something like
Me: "Do you want these? It's Tanglefoot. I can't bear to just throw it away but can't get it into the car."
Them: "What is it?"
Me: "Tanglefoot."
Them:
Me: "It's beer."
Them: "Oh, ok."
Philistines. I bet they just left it there.

I did manage to save 8 cans out of the case. Gave 4 to Neil_Bolton (well, I left them by his tent actually) and the other 4 (or may have been 8) to these lads.
Of course, this does raise the question of why I had 16-20 cans of beer unconsumed by the end of PF. I put it down to too many cups of tea to try to warm up and not enough beer drinking.

Ha, I will tomorrow, i'll be easy to spot though- i'll be the one pitching Ted's tent while he rubs the mud off his GT3's tyres........
Tell him to be carefull, last year Nervous took the front splitter off his GT3 driving in the field.. The picture of a chap running across the field, barbecue tongs ala sausage waving in the air as he shouted.. stooop

Heh, thanks Jon, that was our group! I think one of our alcoholics consumed it on the drive back once he worked out stella wasnt the only form of alcohol
We had to leave a load of stuff there as well, I think everything was swelling with the amount of water coming from the sky

At 8pm on Friday evening in the dark it was not clear where to park so I parked closer to the cafe and toilets than some but still in staggering distance of everything. Better signage may be usefull.
Did not get there till 11 on Friday had no idea where we where supposed to be camping ended up miles away from every where. How about a map of the sight sent out with the tickets?
Also at 03 there was a display your car off type area witch saved on leg work getting round the cars.

If I remember correctly, we carried on once the competition had finished! We're not a half-job kind of team

Original pics here. Love the bit of the Escort with full service history and owners manual in plastic cover... about to be torn apart by axes
Me at work (the shades were on as last minute "safety glasses". I think there might have been some liability issues there!):
Ohh...
Garlick,
Having been to all the PFs, I thought that last year's was the best, although the weather did require warm clothing. With the date being later on in the year I don't think the cold / rain / wind is likely to be so much of a problem.
- The proper toilets in the club house were excellent - please can you ensure they're available for use this year.
- The breakfast in the club house was expensive and naff. A burger van with bacon butties may go down well.
- A clear map of where to go in the Snetterton venue. Last year there were soooo many vehicles & tents already there for the races and it was confusing to find the place.
- The tent could have been a little bigger.
- Can the bar sell bottles of wine as well as draught beer?
- Some sort of system that involves the PHers with the actual race. Perhaps encourage people to 'adopt' teams for some noisy fan clubs? Have results in the main tent. Could be fun??
- Goodfellaz band were excellent - definitely get them again.
- Perhaps more difficult to arrange, but any chance of track day time in between testing & the actual race? (Obviously at additional cost).
Err... that's it I think.
Hope it helps!
Ben

I must confess that for the whole of the Scrapheap Challenge I was just waiting for (and dreading) the first serious injury and was relieved there wasn't one. I think that was more down to luck than anything.
Serious injury? I cut my thumb... Actually the bugger wouldn't stop bleeding. Went to the on-site medic tent where the explanation was interesting "you cut up a car with an axe? Why? Was it your car?"
PS. If doing Scrapheap challenge again, all cars should be the same. Smaller ones were easier than the bigger ones.
