Hi,

I am thinking of going to the nurburgring with my caterham 7 on my trailer...

1. How long would it take from calais to the ring towing the 7?

2. Do you need helmets at the ring? - assuming yes...

3. Is it fun?

cheers,
GFWilliams

Ben Lovejoy's site should help you.

I was there last year but went from North Sheilds.

Yes you will have to wear a helmet (open top car)

It is great fun, but it's not a track day please be careful.

As iv'e said check out above site (hope it works)

Its not compulsary for you to waer a helmet for an open top car, hwever it is advisable. Its your choice.

Aye your right. Thinking about BMW course I did there, where it was for open topped cars.

Sorry mate I can't help you there. About 4 hours from Amsterdam. Try the ringers site or there is a guy on this site "Pikey" who will be able to help. P M him.

Last time I went we towed a bike on a trailer from Calais, we weren't going crazy but getting along though. Took about 4 hours - and an easy 4 hours no stop start etc.

Have a good trip it's definately worth it but as previously mentioned do be careful!

depending on how this w/e goes (weather wise) I might be up for a trip in a couple of weeks, because if the weather is pants, i'm just going to head for some good roads south france way, so i'll post on here if that occurs (hopefully not mind)

I'll be there on the 11th if you're still around.
Assuming the missus doesn't want to do some shopping in Brussels instead

should be there then, depending on weather of course coming back either late on 11th or 12th early, so if you fancy meeting up? I'll be billy no mates on my own mind will have a camera mounted hopefully, so if you want some rear end footage of your car hitting the barrier

Looking at the weather forecast I'm not too sure that I'll be going much faster than 60 in any case.. It also depends on whether my rev limiter will allow me to go round.

Really really watch out for the Belgian police they are seriously HOT on speeding. They tend to have speed traps, 1st hidden unmarked car gets your speed (you can spot them as they have huge speed gun contraptions on their dashboards). Then they radio ahead to the bike cops who come n get you later...so really watch out!!
