Well done to the organisers clap Top run! Loved all the roads - especially that narrow ravine like section. Was behind the Red Skoda VRS for a lot of it, who was having a good crack

Great that we all managed to stay together too. The 'leave no man behind' principle seemed to work for most of the time.

Had a great run back led by E2DJH with AngryS3owner and Marcellus on some excellent roads. Thanks chaps

Can't wait to get my video mount!!!

FANTASTIC route with some great cars! Thanks for organising - well worth getting up at 0530 (body clock time!)...

Not sure what happened on the way back - I got to Meon Hut via A272 and turned right onto the A32 Alton road for a swift run back towards Reading... (i.e. 9 MPG type of swift!) Lost the group when they went straight on at Meon in front of me?

40+ Low resolution reduced pictures are here: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=65&t=371604&p=1

Please PM me if your car is there and you want a HI-RES unreduced (3648x2736) version of any of the photo's...

Edit = spelling!

clap clap excellent run out Gruffy, many thanks.
wavey Lovely to meet yet more new faces.

Baldylocks and Wasted Years, well done for getting to our local RV time before me! Hope you enjoyed the Heathrow tunnels on the way in. Sorry i missed you for our return trip.

Pappa Lurve, i hope you were alone when i made your early morning call

John R, sorry to have lost you on the way home. A tad of indecision on my part had us turn left at the Meon Hut for a mad meander around yet more great roads (oh yes, and i got us lost as well boxedin )

Humpy, you must have pulled off some fantastic manoevres to keep with us on the way home. Brilliant driving mate

Marcellus, always a pleasure bow (if only i had known it was you lying in the road after the roundabout evil)

AngryS3owner it just made perfect sense to have a couple of pints at the end of the run drink

Thanks everyone, i'm now going back to bed

wasted years

Top fun that, cheers to those that arranged it.

I was the black RX7 with 400hp and imported japanese track tyres yikes - i spent most of my time trying to stay in a straight line! On a sunny day they are incredible but this morning....scary. I must get something more usable.

I am afraid i was also responsible for the violent end of a pheasant - silly sod went back and forth and the yellow Ultima and Asbo ST missed it...but it had its revenge by taking a piece of my front bumper with it mad

oh well; worth every penny

Hey guys and gals, apologies if I held you at at times, still getting used to the car (Red Boxster) and I'm not sure those roads are the best place to get used to RWD!!

I'll post the best bits of the video soon

ah, you may have me doing somewhat of a 'flypast'

or two

I honestly had no idea you had a camera

Hope I wasn't holding you up too much Humpy and as for the traffic light grand prix, your car sounded bloody great hehe

Same goes for the Noble on the way down, hope you weren't getting too pissed off being stuck behind a shopping trolley.

Just checked the tape and for some reason nothing recorded past 27 minutes into the run, even though we kept checking it. Very odd.

So sorry guys, no fly-bys I'm afraid

As everyone else has said great drive down cheers whoever you were who organised it!!

The most amusing thing wasn't a pheasant but a rabbit early on, tried to run across in front of the leader, decided against it, then infront of me, decided against it, then infront of the M5, not sure if he ever made it across alive or not!!

Great drive back with E2d wotsit, AngryS3 & Humpy.....we would never have guessed you were lost Dave!!

Here are my pics from the day, trying out a new lens so as usual some good some crap, email me if you want any High res;

boxedin Sorry chaps.

Some great pictures though Marcellus.
I particularly like this one which clearly shows the huge camber, nay banking, coming off that roundabout

I screwed up the settings and this pic was the only one that came out from my "lying on the road after a roundabout stunt"

BTW you really need to get the supercharger you need more grunt....or is it gruff!!

Saw you guys travelling onto the Island this morning and it looked very impressive. A car fanatics dream convoy. Wasnt aware the event was happening as I dont normally visit the gassing station section. Will have to be more observant in future. Good turnout

I had a great time even though a group of us got lost from the start. Thanks to the two Elises for making the second half of the run fun

Not many pictures for some reason my camera never really likes bouncing around in the Atom!

Here's a quick snippet of video we took when we stopped at the layby just outside Goodwood - There's quite a few cars on this, see if you can spot yourself in 'classic' hooning mode.

Video link here - It's an h.264 quicktime file so you'll need quicktime 7 player to view it. I'll try and get some more posted up on pistonheads.tv at some point during the week.

Enjoy!

Rich.
