Anyone else thinking about it?

I seriously am and would like and advice or thoughts or even cars to pair up with for parts of it.

I have done it. never again, if you want to do something either Eurohoon, furball or the rabbit run is a much better experience.

Well, it would seem that a few people don't like the Cannonball Run.

May I ask what it is thet you didn't like?

Judging from the posts a few of you seem to like the smaller group runs. (More personal, driving together etc?)

I don't mind if it's a large event. I'm not into standing around talking about spark plugs and tire pressures. I want an event with lots of entries, a good atmosphere, good scenery and routes, a good thrash in my car (with or without other entrants) and a good party.

I would like to know if the Cannonball is organised well, and is value for money? What's the accomodation, food like etc?

more details would be appreaciated. Isn't there anyone who has enjoyed it?

Lordbenny, having been on most of the Cannonball Europe runs, you must have enjoyed them eh? Worth doing? Does everyone go flat out everywhere or is it a mixed bag?

did the furball last year and it was great, there were a few of the furball that had also done the cannoball, perhaps if you go onto the fuball site you could get all your questions answered, but if its down to money then the furball will beat the cannoball hands down. the crew on the fuball have a great set up, i could not fault last year tony

Yes, Nick the Cannonball is VERY enjoyable I think it's the people that make the Cannonball, the camaraderie is amazing, they don't, however, go flat out everywhere, Cannonballers are car mad but it's not just about speed. There is always a great track day where you can let your car really stretch it's legs! The parties are great, the hotels are 5 star but the one thing you'll take from the week is the fact that you've shared a week doing what you love best....ok, 2nd best!!! & that's blasting you're pride & joy around some of Europe's best roads with like minded people & great cars. driving

I was in the Army but got out in 1997. I've been doing security since and have been in Iraq since 2003. (With some time off in between dates)

I've worked in Basrah too delivering the new Iraqi currency to the lcal banks in the whole Southern Region. Moved to Mosul from there, then Kirkuk and have been in Baghdad for the last 2 years.

Once I have enough cash, hopefully at the end of this year? I'll take break.

Seems like Cannonball and the other rallies have got some serious Brit competition this year as the Carbon Black rally will be running through Europe in early May. Should be interesting as it was started last year by an ex-gumballer Nods. It had some very good reports after the first event last year, so might be another one to consider lads.

Carbon Black is a good option, im not sure of the entry fee, but it will be no expense spared when it comes to quality parties and service, during the week each entry has their own female crew member on call to assist with anything from getting the beers on ice to sorting you out with some spare clothes. i think they also have a mechanic crew too!
Nods has taken in everything from his gumball exp and returned a great alternative. worth a look IMO.
