Maybe this topic should have been called, "Tivs ‘n Pasties with shaved Parmesan, Rocket, ‘n Summer Swallows 4.3%"

You will have heard of the VW mob’s ‘Run to the Sun’, complete with their water pistols, surfbeads and surfbeds, dreads and droughts –

I rather fancied a more civilised similar TVR version whereby a group of us Rumble to Cornwall for a weekend.
’Tivs ‘n pasties’ will be a mix of camping, eating, drinking, partying, water pistols, surfbeads and surfbeds, dreads and droughts!….uumm! (not much different then?)

Well yes!,
my sister-in-law owns and runs a rather splendid public house at Mitchell in Cornwall. It’s just off the A30 about 7 miles from Newquay and 8 from Truro. They have well over 5 acres of paddocks and a huge car park.

The bar menu is fantastic, they also have a full restaurant and large selection of beers including some very fine ales!
My s-in-laws partner used to work with Rick Stein at the Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, he is co-owner and Chef, so the food is just about ok!!

The plan would be to travel down on Independence Day - Friday 4th July, set up camp, eat and drink - fall asleep in the field!

On Saturday, a camp Rumble through Newquay is planned, just to show the holiday makers what real cars sound like. Then there will be a BBQ or Pig roast at lunch, leaving just enough time for the girls to do some light shopping in Truro

Saturday night there will be a chance to sample the menu again and a band (or maybe discothekwee) in the marquee, more beer, several burps and another bad nights sleep just outside somebody else’s tent because you couldn’t find your own!

On the Sunday you can wish you didn’t have a pastie, wish you didn’t attend, and then we can all drive home. Lovely.

Anyone interested ?

Simon,

This sounds good, count me in please, for this summers rumble I will be there with the Red Noise Chim.
Just let us know the start point for the rumble.
How about a designated services on the M5 to allow easy starting meeting point to this event from members travelling from other regions.

David I imagine there will be several RV points for different Rumbles that could maybe all meet at Exeter services on the M5!

more details to follow

Yup that's the date for it - we have about 11 members of the c3c Region that are up for it as well

the ideal would be about 100 !

Are you only allowing Tivs or will any PH type car do? I could bring the Boxster S up from Falmouth if there were no objections!
