wuddie - i had just arrived when you pulled up and I saw you drive past out tents and into a dip with a crunch.

then your mate that followed you went exactly the same direction and the inevitable happened!

glad to hear it was only the number plates - wasnt sure if it was anything more expensive at the time

Top weekend ladies and gents, I was the guy with the cheapest car on display, my £1500 green Golf GTI! Struck me as amusing displaying it next to car's all worth approximately 30 times the price

TVR's were a sight to behold, I'm currently in love with the 350C, have been ever since I saw it at the motorshow.

However, it's pity there was any negative comments about the drag racing as it was an awesome display. Some of the show cars were absolutely beautiful. One particular Cheverolet Chevelle caught my eye, in electric blue (photos in the URL below)

The location was great IMO, if you took your time across the bumps and gravel, there was no possibility of damage, even the Diablo got in unscathed AFAIK.

Toilet situation was a bit silly, should be the first thing to be rectified next year IMO. Food situ was okay, if you went over to the NSRA bit, great food there! Even the facilities there were good, showers and everyfink!

Many thanks to the guy on the scooter that sorted our tickets out, much appreciated!

Understand some chaps from the evo magazine forum have been silly about Mr PetrolTed today, as I'm a regular poster there, here's some quality pics from Pistonfest to placate you

Cheers.

Chris.

Thanks Chris. You can't please all the people all the time so I think the generally positive reaction to the drag racing is good. One bog between 800+ people was a bit of a shortcoming though... think we learned our lesson on that one!

I hope our camping "neighbour" got his silver P555 Impreza sorted out. That lumpy running and clouds of black smoke looked a bit worrying.

Turned out I split 2 pipes running to the turbo. All fixed now but it was a good job Mr RAC came and got me otherwise a drive home would have blown the turbo ££££

Had a cracking weekend, toilet facilties were definately lacking, I didn't even risk entering them on the Sunday!

Ted, just a question out of curiosity; what were the attendance figures approx for the Sat/Sun PF?

I know you said 800ish but does that include the drag strip boys?

To be honest, I personally think that the weekend was good enough to put on in the same location, in the same way next year. With more activities from PH (and toilets ) to improve things further. That way you can get rid of all of the problems of this event, without taking on a whole raft of other problems you'd get with a new venue!

No real complaints about the event to speak of, so why not IMHO!?

Chris.

It was all brilliant, I enjoyed every minute of it.

mind you, I did start on the stella at 11 am

What else can you do though? I was one of the "Scooby Lot", silver 01WRX that Stig "borrowed" for a few minutes, and I think it's fair to say that we ALL had a brilliant time

Big thanks to Ted and all who helped him (sorry I'm new to PH and don't know any of you yet, except Stig) and roll on next year!

As I said on another thread yesterday, for a first effort it was an absolute success. Every single one of our crowd had a fabulous time and the "porshia Boxxtaa" song with Iguana and the gang was the funniest moment of the year so far, even topping the tent wrecking psycho at Le Mans (but that's another story!)

With a couple of extra loos and a bit more activities during the day it will be even better next year,a nd I for one wouldn't miss it for anything. It's now up there with Le Mans and BTaP as my "must do's" for next year...

Well done Ted.

Yeah luckily just the bottom corner...so can just chop it off and not affect any of the lettering. will help with other grounding events like curbs and steep driveways I saw the shock on your face as i bounced back out of the dip.. Was "OH NO WHATS HE DONE" kinda expression.

Personally I thought watching the Drag Racing was one of the highlights of the weekend.

Hi
Just want to give a great big 'hoorah' to this comment. I am the beloved girly of one of the drag racing tatooed greasers and can vouch for the hard work, skill, craftmanship and commitment of the Nostalgia and Hot Rod Drag Racing Crowd.

Glad you enjoyed some of the racing as it makes my sacrificing Gucci for Matalan clothing worthwhile!!

We enjoyed having a peep at your TVR's although I don't know who stuck those two yellow fluffy things on my nipples!!

I second that!! The comments made earlier(now withdrawn) were quite unnecessary.
Personally,I like a man with a goatee, tats, jeans and a white t-shirt (though my bloke only has the goatee!!) And your cars don't give me goosebumps!!! LOL!
If you want to see more drag racing, stangly dressed men with tats and women in red lipstick.. why not come along to the Hot Rod Drags = 5th-7th Sept.

Hear, hear. I loved the drag racing. Moreso given that I've got some American Iron under the 'hood'.

RoadsterJo - if your fella is one of the drag boys, could you ask him if he knows of a rolling road who knows smallblock chevys inside-out?
