I hope our camping "neighbour" got his silver P555 Impreza sorted out. That lumpy running and clouds of black smoke looked a bit worrying.

Hi I was in that group I had the grey RB5.

The cars in this morning for some diags it would appear that the airflow or co2 meter has gone.

We were camped just along from you - Red Elan SE Turbo and Chimaera. I was going to come over and say "hi" to you all but felt too lousy from terrible hay fever to be sociable.

I know how you feel! Hayfever was very very bad on Sat. So bunged up I could not breath in the tent so had to try and sleep in the car. Meant that my beer drinking was curbed a bit

You guys should have come over to me then. I had 36 cans of John Smith's Extra Smooth and an 8.8pint mini-keg of Stella in the Chimaera.

(I was planning on being more sociable, you see)

But then people would only want me for my beer.
And would they respect me in the morning?

So, how did everyone manage to make it into the field OK but i leave my exhaust behind?!
The fiesta must have been the higgest riding car at the event and I was not going fast!

Sounds better without an exhaust though!

Rob you're not alone - my Chimaera decided to leave it' front splitter behind in the camping field. In the end it was quite educational as a number of people had never seen one before and I got to show them where it should go when not bent in an S shape.

now just waiting for one to arrive at the dealer...

Jon - sod the beer, was that your mini-BBQ that smelt so damm nice? If I'd been able to see we might have invaded you for the food... (we were 2 tents round in the purple Chim)

Personally I thought watching the Drag Racing was one of the highlights of the weekend.

Hi
Just want to give a great big 'hoorah' to this comment. I am the beloved girly of one of the drag racing tatooed greasers and can vouch for the hard work, skill, craftmanship and commitment of the Nostalgia and Hot Rod Drag Racing Crowd.

Glad you enjoyed some of the racing as it makes my sacrificing Gucci for Matalan clothing worthwhile!!

We enjoyed having a peep at your TVR's although I don't know who stuck those two yellow fluffy things on my nipples!!

Update on my mates scooby that went pop

He had split some turbo connection pipes and that was it

Although if he had driven it home he could have been in real problem.

He gets it back tomorrow all fixed

I think it might have been. And very nice it was too. TJA (red VX220) just along from you joined us after popping off to Tesco for supplies and a back-up BBQ for when ours died down (good thinking!) and we had a nice little cook-up. Mmmmm.

Never watched drag racing before, but having done so, I'd certainly be happy to tag along again if we visit you again next year. The cars were quite simply awesome, and I hate to think how much time was spent in building and prepping them. Didn't stop to talk to many people on the day, but without exception those I met on the road were friendly and curteous which is a lot more than can be said for the rest of the driving population these days..

Thanks to the kind NSRA people and there understanding loan of a Goped, fantastic fun, big grass graze down elbow, not at all caused by the large amount of beer drunk , made for a cracking finish to our holiday the previous week.

Minimax,

Looked for you before we left but couldn't find you, had promised you a ride. Hope to see you again some time.
