An all round great weekend. though i did get super bad hayfever and i burnt around my eye!! even with factor 30 on.I can't believe i never saw the jet car, everytime i heard it w went running to the strip but oddly never got there in time.

The convoy on the way there was great-the sight on all the cars rolling into donnington services was ace. I was in tom's (minimax's) new westi, not the most comfortable of cars when going at a steady "70mph" but made up for by the number of people giving the thumbs up and waving.
Big hello to Pistol (pete), top bloke, hope you can stretch to the cerby soon matey.

Now what do I remember best?

Baking in the sun watching the drag racing.

Jet car doing a 4.66 quarter with a 238mph terminal wow!

Issetta bubble car launching off the start only to turn left into the barrier after 25 yards. Driver lucky not to hurt his legs given they are right at the front.

General 'American' body proportions of those into drag racing.

Lots of friendly people and nice cars

Here goes:
Trying to keep up with a ferrari and a few TVRs in a punto was the first struggle. But we did it and it was fun. I didn't now it could cruise at ??90mph but we did loose out an acceleration but the 1.2 16v tiptronic with a boot full of speakers held its own.
Every body was nice n freindly even if you didn't have a TVR
240 mph in 6.4 seconds, now was that the jet car or the pair of fiats?
pouring reef over the video camera twice!

Parkin the Punto in with the rest in the middle with the stereo on loud
Gemini upsetting chris by killin the music (ps he fixed it now and is gettin a bigger one for next year)
also a lesson in TVRs CAPRI look a like and hair dressers cars(boxsters)
Having a really good time making a few new friends

Thanks for organising it Im glad I went

From Chris:-

I had loads of fun and got quite burnt and a nice ring round my eyes from the sunglasses!

I enjoyed parking my car (the orange Fiat) in the centre and making the music loud I was quite surprised when it got nearly as much attention as the flasher cars!

My dad got fairly drunk and he felt it when I told him he had drunk all his box of reef

I think Gemini should buy a boxster once he has sold his Capri/TVR and should be careful were he takes a leak once he has had a few beers!! I fixed the stereo which he somehow managed to break. It was far too quiet having to drive all the way home with no sound system, but we survived, Cheers Richard!!!

The Subaru was quite funny when he blew his engine up and went home on the recovery truck as he did a few too many donuts! I bet he didn't find it too funny

I had a great weekend and was also impressed with the drag racing, I hope everyone had as much of a good time.
