Just saw Bulldog Bash on Sky, with bikes at Shakespeare County Raceway.....saw something that might appeal next year....
A wrestling ring full of people, all trying to eject each other from the ring, last one in wins....looked lots of fun...although not for me, I'm a wuss.

Bulldog bash is a great event with some top bands to,great RWYB there aswell
A RWYB would be great.
How about some team games, these always go down well at southern mini days, a eliminator system where you end up with 2 teams in the final, as the final game each team has a car to smash up, the team to get the car lowest to the ground wins, good fun to take part in and also good fun to watch

The Mopar Nationals is a RWYB day at Santa Pod the 26-27th this month. Loads of other yanks and dragsters there as well. I will be there and probably Ultima Andy. Any body welcome, may even get on there anual Video.. Friday/Saterday Camping for those who like the bear Tent and bad Singing. Hopefully my drive shafts won't shear this year.

I look after a 1966 Dodge Charger for my boss, who spends most of his time in the US. After I told him about Pistonfest, I asked him (jokingly) whether he would mind if I drag raced the Charger. His response - 'Yeah, no problem, just make sure you give it a good polish first so that it looks good.'
So I will be running this car at the Mopar Nationals provided I can get hold of a new set of cam followers in time, repair the radiator (which fell to bits yesterday on a five mile journey from the MoT station to the barn where the car lives) and also provided it doesn't break down on the way to Santa Pod.
The car has been drag raced before, has big rear tyres, race shifter and straight through exhausts. It doesn't have the Nitrous system any more, but it's quick enough anyway. The only weak link is the driver - I've never done anything like this before. Anyone know a good website which will teach me the basics?
bangernomics,
I'm no expert but this is what I've learn't, inflate your front and reduce your rear tyre pressure by about 10 lbs a bit of experimenting is needed here. Unless you want to do a burnout NEVER go through the water, you don't want water coming out of your threads down the strip.
Get up to the lights first when learning, it gives you more time to prepare for the launch. On take off a little bit of wheel spin helps and stops the car getting bogged down, the surface is extremely grippy
for santapod you'll need a helmet, driver license, long sleeves, no shorts

From the number of invites we received on the Saturday to run the LMP up the strip, we assumed that there was an RWYB session that day. Perhaps Ted can shed a little more light on the situation?
FYI - we couldn't run it up the strip due to a damaged prototype rear upright (caused during an accident at our last test). However, as a result of late night field donuting, it's even more damaged now! Don't know if the R500 faired any better... We'll also be needing some new piston rings after drowning out the band on Saturday evening with some over-exuberant revving of a cold ZX9 engine! (Anyone know who the guy was holding his mobile at the tailpipe? I fear we may have melted his phone...)
BTW - Thanks to all that stopped by our state-of-the-art stand on both days! And especially big thanks to the Out Run boys for their entertaining anecdotes (1 walkie-talkie for the Cannonball! That STILL cracks us up!! - tell them, Steve!) and to all those who bought us drinks on Saturday evening.
See you all next year!

The R500 seemed OK, with only one PH'er found stuck in the radiator grill after your (Coram) exploits.
Driving home with yet another hangover and a helmet on I would only have noticed a problem if a wheel fell off, but at least I remembered to clip the Momo on tight.
Won't recount the walkie-talkie gag, 'cos I still don't get it - it is only when Ru tells it that everyone falls about laughing What's wrong with only having one walkie-talkie........

I WAS VERY PISSED
but the phone is OK.
And why did you let them rev the nuts off it?
"Why did (I) let them rev the nuts off it?"
The engine was on it's last legs anyway - after a torturous 3 months testing - plus it's got a rev limiter, so I thought "why the fk not!"
I figured most of you would like to hear the sound of it and we kinda had a point to prove about it running... We also had some fancy new instruments in the car that even we hadn't seen operating - they were only fitted on Friday evening! So I guess you could call it an official test of our new instrumentation!!
Being quite inebriated by that point, we didn't need much encouragement either!
Must admit, light's off donuting is quite... erm... interesting...
Steve & Ru - good to hear you got back safely. We were a little worried when we saw the pint glasses of Vodka Red Bull as we were saying goodbye on Sunday! It's not surprising you set such a good time on the strip with that kind of fuel!
