Sign of a perfect run?!! Welcome David, you've seen pistonheaders at their best (even if your neighbours may not have agreed)!

Yes,your right about the neighbours, we have some sad b/s around here, but I certainly enjoyed it, thanks again to you all, great club, trust you'll be back sometime.

I concur. I spent some time in a side office talking to an angry police officer after we'd had 'lots' of complaints from residents.

I know that the 40-odd cars I was travelling with on the way through HI were all impeccably behaved so the obvious assumption was that a number of locals were intimidated by 110+ 'flashy noisy sports cars' travelling at 20mph. The high driving standards made it easy for me to defend our group, so thanks again for that everybody!

Once he'd realised that we weren't a reckless group of road racers and were actually behaving responsibly he calmed down and was very reasonable. He did give me a lot of grief about not having marshals at the Sailing Club though, and not informing the police that we were coming.

If the Sailing Club can fit us in I'd say it was popular enough to run again later in the year. In which case I will inform the Hayling Island police that we'll be arriving (so same high standards of driving please, particularly on the Island) and for practical purposes I think it'll need to be limited to 100 cars, which is about as many as the causeway can hold and the kitchen can comfortably cater for smile

Not shy on power is it? hehe

I was in the red S2 and was pretty impressed with the power when watching you overtake in the rear view mirror!

Gruffy, I think you are right about the residents. I was leading a group of about 30 cars all through Hayling Island and I was driving like miss daisy so there was no chance of anyone in the group speeding. smile

Ditto, i led the first five cars in and we didn't break a single speed limit once on the island, didn't even make any noise as we were all "cooling down".

Knew I shouldn't have done those donuts, by a bus stop full of orphans outside the Sick Kitten Hospital

I came in with BrightYellowTvr and the white GT3 RS lick. Some guy was hanging out of his upstairs window with his son enjoying the parade, asking for "some noise", and round the corner some deranged woman was out by the road gesticulating in a "less than friendly" manner - all of this at less than 20 mph.

I too can comfortably say the mini group I led in was very well behaved - I finally got lost in the instructions about 1 mile away from the entrance to the club so we were all bimbling along scratching our heads biggrin No Nora Batty hanging out of an upstairs window though which somehow detracts from the run in a minor way hehe

Good smiley though - very handy now the summer runs are starting in earnest!

I was behind Pete all the way through HI and I can concur that we pootled along all the way across the island... However there were a couple of what appeared to be local Barry'd up Skylines who got frustrated by our gentle progress and roared past us as we waited for a lorry to park; subsequently they tore off past the shops and turned along the seafront...

And to be honest I don't recall breaking any speed limits for the entire day? scratchchin....hehe

I was certainly in full 'pootle' mode by the time I got to the island... primarily because HISC isn't exactly well signposted, but also because I was running on fumes hehe

Bleedin' NIMBYs. I feel slightly sorry for some of the villages we 'ambled' through on the way (even at 20mph 100+ exhausts must shatter the peace a bit), but HI residents had nothing to complain about.

Haha, the password means everyone's panicking with excitement, but I've dished out the password to all who emailed now (no police-pretending-to-be-pistonheaders yet).

I agree the passwording is probably a good idea though.

I am sure there is nothing law breaking on the video, but I must add that I had lent my Aston to a friend of a freind's freind, and I dont know their address....officer!

I think technology's wonderful these days - those videos have been speeded up by 50% like some of the sequences in Smokey and the Bandit, but they still look smooth...
