superflid you had 20bhp more than me, so I guess it didnt do too bad!!

20 horses down and aerodynamics of a wardrobe, you did well. I did have a secret weapon, there was a Noble rear wing in the back of mine - must have been worth 10 mph.

If I'd known that the drive back to the burger van included the speed trap i'd have been Subaru powered.......

Bah - I *WILL* get 175 plus next time!

Thanks again Craig & co - a truly well organised event. As a newbie around here, I was worried you might be a right iffy crowd but I couldn't have met nicer people! I'm glad my first track event ever was with you lot.

You can count on me for any future events - Don't know if I can wait until Spring to thrash round Brunters again though!! I think I've got the bug

A Big Thanks Guys & Domster (For dragging me along and waiting patiently for 2 hrs while I changed the plugs so I could have all 6 cyl working)

For the "experiences" on Sunday..... I was bowled over.....completely. The Ultima "Guy" was awesome and you felt it through every avaliable sense, The mazzer 3200GT was a very quick gentlemans express train it felt like a 100 when it was far side of 150 and looked like it was at speed parked up beautifull lines. But I might upset someone when I say hightlight of the day was the RS4 "Tim" - 164mph Estate Car and carrying on a normal conversation, but none intended.

Next Time I'll do it properly..... It'll need a better clutch (new one might help) the rest of the exhaust replaced Downpipes - catless and legally so (benefits of owning a 12 year old car!!!) and a few more horses - well a lot more but 415 is the limit so I'll have to settle for that and I must explain the launch sequence in order to get full boost. It needs an Atkins diet too.....

Many Thanx

B'Stard Child

PS Must get more lessons from Jeremy C, I have never been more calm when he's behind the wheel of a car (mine) or a slot racer Ultralight RS

PPS Banana Yellow Cupra "Bill" - Quality shows,

PPS Smart Car Man another 5mph and you'd have caught me up on the back straight I could see you all the time in the mirror!!!!

Mels got me thinking...

I just want to have my smart getting obliterated by a proper supercar on video. I was hoping to do it at the last PistonFest until the RWYB idea was killed off!! It would be nice to just give a real world demonstration as to how fast supercars really are. (depending on the cost of course- very skint student )

2. Did you video it?

I have a plan that will address that point directly that I hatched with Jezza on the way back.

I'll email people direct with it once I've done a bit more investigation....

Those wings really do make a difference of 7 mph. That's how much my Noble sped up without it! Thanks again for taking back to the burger van for me.

DEFINATELY!!!!! If I can talk dad into it, would you mind passengering in the Cerb on a run or two next time and give me a few pointers???

Failing that I think I might have to just enter the Smart next time - I dont care that its the slowest car there, it was still fun and as you proved adam, any car in the right hands can be extremely entertaining - by then hopefully it'll be remapped and running with another 50%ish of power!!

Thanks again!

**superflid - with that wing in place then it would have been an even dash to the bacon butties??? You may have won the battle but you have not won the war, bring the scoob next time and I'll get the Cerb along

**B'stard Child - Yours was the rather tasty Lotus Carlton I assume?? I was no-where near you, well and truly obliterated. Anyway, you were two up (with passenger - recognise the face but cant quite put it to a name/ manek?) I just had to sit on the limiter and wish for lots of money... Theres a vid somewhere of the first bit before the back straight, will see what I can do. Thanks again to Craigw, I owe you

As for Pics - I have a few pics somewhere, will get them up here soon. Gave up after a while to just absorb the sights and sounds outside of a lens, couldnt help it!!!

A word of warning, in the past a "normal" track day at Brunters could give you a lot of stone chips as there is more likelihood that you will be running behind other cars and the track has traditionally been very gritty. The format we had on Sunday meant that you never had to run in close proximity behind others at speed. Also I did get the impression that there was less grit than in the past, so it might be that the owners have tried to improve things as they were getting a bit of a reputation for a gritty track.
