Im still not totally certain im going to be there (90% sure atm) but I would prefer to take a pretty direct route down - LotusN sounds like you would be heading the other way, ah well - maybe next time.

Anyone going via the M40?? I'll be heading down that way I think - at a very legal 70mph (I like my license clean/ cant afford points!!)

Would be nice to go in convoy though...

let me know dude im with you!

Yep, it'll do 84 atm, will get it remapped and have the limiter removed so it should do 100 (+?).

Scoob, will keep you updated, should know by sunday!

Yes come on Di - you're not a true PistonHead until you've been to Virginia Water and stood around in a freezing carpark for 3 hours

I'm spending a few days in London before VW, need to work out if I park the motor in Kensington and suffer the wallet crunching cost or train back to Notts, pick the car up then drive down?!

Anyway, that means I might be up for a convoy from J24 M1 southwards...BCA maybe?

or

a convoy out of London? Where are all you Londoners heading from?

I haven’t phoned, did anyone tell them with the last meets?

Suppose it won’t hurt to give them all call, perhaps we should tell the burger van as well

I always presumed noone called as the hour queues for drinks and nosh we suffered from were a little excessive.

It might be worth a post to see if anyone has a drive/parking space they could let you use if you are in London - If you don't ask - you don't get !

You could use my drive but as I am 100 mls away no real benefit

Bob, you are living up to your name! good plan!

So, any PH'ers know a place I can leave my car Fri/Sat night in central London? Hopefully without spending £60 on NCP fees?!

Next to blackfriars station on queen victoria st in the council offices there is a multi underground level car park - very cheap (for city) over the weekend.

Also the gumball rally car park outside the hilton on park lane entrance and exit is between the two lanes on park lane - cheap weekend deals £10 I think for saterday. The masterpark one under hydepark normal price for a weekend.

Do a google search for city of westminister car parks. The above 3 I use for work and are very good - painted floors, piped music, car wash service etc etc

OK, change of plan.

I'm leaving from Notts, but will be heading M1 South to pick my brother up from outer London, then following the M25 round to VW. What sort of time are we all aiming to get there?
