Yep, I could be up for that - if I have the Griff back by then.

Podie,

For an extra half hour's driving you can save a pound and do the Blackwall Tunnel . (Unless it's shut Southbound which someone might have said to me a while ago, but I used it the last time we went to Kent.)

Should be OK for me PODIE.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking???....A couple of very loud TVR going through a tunnel, seeing if we can take some concrete of those walls??

Gotta take care though, slight mishap the other night. Tell you properly when I see you.

....Right Foot....Open Road....Big Smiling....Flashing Blue Lights....Big Swearing....Hand In License....Send Cheque off etc etc... yeah you got it

Oh no, Tony! Bad luck!

At least they did it properly instead by scamera. Didn't Little T blink her eyes well enough?

You fancy some Blackwall Tunnel? I've yet to look at good meeting places, but I'm sure something could be arranged .

Big T,

My route crosses the A10, which would be good for meeting Griffy I guess, then it's A1207 and A106 out to the A12 at Hackney Wick and down (according to the AA, but this is negotiable).

You know of any good meeting places?

Podie - I'm interested in comming along, but not sure if I can. 1 it depends on whether or not I have recovered from the drink at my engagement party on Saturday night and 2 if I can perswade the other half to come along with me....

If I can make it, would it be possible to meet you at the Thurrock Services as it would be easier for me? Also if I do join you, please bear in mind that I'm still running the new engine in, so I won't be able to 'blast' around.....

she's fine mate. She was down at David Batty's for a de-cat and new exhaust... hence the obsession with tunnels! (check the "How Loud?!?!" thread in the S series forum).

Big T - NOOOOO! Blackwall there, and Dartford back, sounds like a great idea!

TVR-Nut - be good if you could make it chap... promise to be good (ish) blat wise, with the exception of tunnels, or where the exhaust will reverberate... Engagement! bloody hell chap! (seriously though, congratulations )

V8 Archie - Best damn idea I've heard in ages... Since you know the way, are you happy to lead? Suggest a meeting place and a time chap, and I'll be there!

I would not say that I know the way. The AA route-finder appears to though. I think the hard bit is going to be finding meeting places were we can wait in safety.

If the consensus is that a trip through Blackwall tunnel on the way there is in order then let's arrange to meet up in the big O’Neill’s pub car park just off the Green Man roundabout. It's easily accessible and close to the tunnel, down the M11 link road a little bit.

www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=539730&y=187690&z=1&sv=539750,187750&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

Just a thought though peeps, it's got a big car park and it's off the main road. It's quite easy to get to from the tunnel, we can either take the A2 or the A20 then jump on the M25 for a little bit.

What d'ya think??

T.

P.S. Means more time in bed for me

OK chaps. Here it is:

Meet 11:00am for 11:15 at O’Neill’s pub car park just off the Green Man roundabout.

Then A12-A102-Blackwall Tunnel-A2-M25-A224.

I've got myself, Big T, Podie, Drum4it2. Anyone else fancy some extra throbbing action ? TVR-NUT and TeGriffic, let us know (wouldn't want to leave anyone behind )

Being the sad git that I am, I might come just for the Blackwall tunnel bit as it's only five minutes away, can't make the full run as I'm on kiddie duty.

Is someone gonna check to see whether Blackwall's open cos if it is I guarantee it'll be shut after we've been through it

Oh and if Tony's Fire Breathing, Devil machine is going through it, god help us...I'm staying well back and watching out for leaks in the ceiling

The BBC reckons:

ROADWORKS DURING THE NIGHT
NORTHBOUND CLOSED TUESDAY NIGHTS WITH A CONTRAFLOW IN THE SOUTHBOUND TUNNEL - ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHTS ONE LANE IS CLOSED IN THE SOUTHBOUND TUNNEL. ALL WORKS USUALLY START AT 9PM AND FINISH AT 5AM

Nigel - I'm definately up for it, but it depends on how drunk I get at my engagement party the night before and if there are any 'morning after' effects.... Also need to perswade the girlfriend that she needs to come for a drive with me....

Is the Green Man roundabout actually marked up/sign posted as the Green Man roundabout? I'm not really sure how far up the A12 it is or indeed where it actually is?
