Looks like it's going tits finding a suitable tunnel for your noisy TVR

(To make himself heard over the sound of roaring V8s) There's always Rotherhithe (probably adds 20mins to the journey, but we could possibly even include the Limehouse Link too if we did that.

Warning IIRC the limehouse link has a speed camera in it

As long as there's no noise meter we should be OK. 1st gear, everyone.

If the consensus is that a trip through Blackwall tunnel on the way there is in order then let's arrange to meet up in the big O’Neill’s pub car park just off the Green Man roundabout. It's easily accessible and close to the tunnel, down the M11 link road a little bit.

www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=539730&y=187690&z=1&sv=539750,187750&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

Just a thought though peeps, it's got a big car park and it's off the main road. It's quite easy to get to from the tunnel, we can either take the A2 or the A20 then jump on the M25 for a little bit.

What d'ya think??

P.S. Means more time in bed for me

Anyone want to meet me first... don't really know where I'm going!

Podie, listen up chap. I live more or less at the start of the M11. How far are you from the M11/M25 junction? If you can make it down the M11 to the A406(North Circular) turn off then call me from there and I will direct you to my gaff (few minutes away). From there we can make our way to the Green Man roundabout (start of Leytonstone High Road). I'll mail you directions if you prefer.

That way we can then pi$$ all my neighbours off even more

Who else is up for the Blackwall Tunnel Run to Kent??

Rotherhithe is pants - on a normal day you'll be lucky to get over 20mph through it.

Is that a normal Sunday?

Yes - if you have seen the bends in it you wouldn't want to do more than 20 around them - even in a Noble

Also, on every day there is a constant stream of cars through it, and so as it has 20 signs and speed camera signs (although the cameras are just at the start of each end) people always pootle through there at 20mph.

I can concur with Joust on this one. I went through Rotherhithe on a Sunday morning bout 7ish on route to Gatwick and 1). It was bloody busy and 2). no way near as fun as Black and Dart. Black should be OK for Sunday at the time we're going and if we go through it, I think we should go straight back North and do it all again

Edited to say that I went through Rotherhithe cos Black was shut!!! I think we need to check Black out for Sunday.

I think that Black' re-opens at 9am at the week-ends whilst the work is going on... I certainly went thru it at 9.30 last Sat morning.

Edited to add that whilst the Rotherhithe isn't up to the mark in terms of speed, it certainly amplifies the noise better because it is so much smaller.

Anyone who fails to use a quid's worth of fuel in the tunnel is not trying hard enough .
