I certainly did thanks smile turns out I'm an idiot and flooded it, a very nice gent wandered over from his ultima and told me how to start it, and it fired up first time. It still needs a new battery though.

Favourite car for me was the frankly silly GMC truck on raised suspension. Couldn't stop myself from smiling everytime I went near it. Which one of us is the crazy owner?!
The guy's username on here is twiglove I do believe. I liked the truck's remote start function thumbup

You were returning I think, heading back to VW direction. Me and the Copen (behind) were on route home.

I also think I saw the black M3 going down the A3 at around 1400 as we were on the way to my mums...

A good morning indeed.
The idea of reserving the carpark spaces at the start of this thread seemed a waste though. There were loads of spaces, and it served to discourage some from entering. Some nice cars parked in the laybys and I'm sure a few folk were put off from coming altogether.
Next year, I vote for first come first served. Cheers.

I also vote for first come, first served next time.
Also, shame on those that said they would come but did not both.
Mum can wait till the afternoon, so can the wife.

Numbers were lower than I expected and we could have had another 50 cars with ease. I can see why people dropped out (worried they would not make it in the car park) but in order to continue to have VW as an annual venue, there is not alot left we can do other than organise it in this manner.

I agree that a first come first serve idea would work, and in essence that is what today was always destined to be on the gates. However, I can't help but feel that a crude "on the day" first come first serve method would mean traffic queue's, tailbacks out the car park and the inevitable intervention from the authorities that could serve to ruin the ambience.

The "list" was a grey area and I agree that it's purpose was slightly pointless, but then again, maybe it did work in that it encouraged enough but prevented some...

All in all the meet was a success, and I feel it is something that we should try and continue if we can smile

Like last year it was again a great succes, thanks Dizeee for organising it all!

Great weather, great cars, and nice to catch up with some familiar faces and to meet some new people. Shame the vipers from last year didn't turn up (am a huge viper fan) but there was enough other eyecandy.

Getting there was another adventure, it's well known to some i alwast get lost coming to meets/hoons, i usually manage to get within a couple miles of the event and then go completely wrong and end up 30 miles away and have to call for directions.

However on the M5 this morning i saw a nice red Ferrari 328 so caught up with him, and a couple of minutes later i saw two sevens so i thought ah they're all going to the meet, i just follow them.

I was behind the ferrari and the sevens were following me, but then the ferrari floored it, but as traffic was allowing it so i followed him, and i must have followed him for at least 25 miles, but then my phone with build in (crap) satnav tells me to take the exit, however Ferrari drives on so i thought he might know a better route so i keep following him.

However the next exit comes up and he still doesn't take it, so by then i'm not sure if he actually is going to the meet, and the sevens didn't catch up with us so i take the exit and had to go back on myself, and just when i joined the motorway again i saw 2 porsche's, a black 997 and a green GT3 RS, so i thought "ah they will defenately be going to the meet", so i follow them, but then they go past the exit my satnav want me to take again!

So first followed a ferrari for over 25 miles and then 2 porkers for a while, and none of them actually went to the meet redface
