Just a thought, but what about trying to get someone like, ok, getting Jay Kay along with his Enzo? I'm sure he'd be up for coming along to a big car-meet like that... well not sure, but it's worth an ask!

You could even try to get some more people like Tiff Needel, Matt Neal/Jason Plato... Would be great to meet/see/take pictures of some of the more "famous" car enthusiasts!

Good idea, I'd guess Jay Kay would be the type who would turn up to an event for a laugh. He'd have to audition though to join the Gatsos on stage. The rest of the names mentioned would probably require a fee as cars are their "profession".

true, hadn't thought of it that way Still, Jay Kay would be cool, seems a geezer!

Means to an end Pies - I haven't seen an Enzo Jay Kay although he makes great music is incidental to seeing his car If he's into cars and wants to chat to people great, if he a pompous so-and-so and can't be "one of the lads" if you will great

Enquiries have already been made in this respect (not JK, but other notaries) but as ever personalities require appearance fees so it's a question of what we put together for the weekend.

I agree.

Whilst I think it would be great if a genuine petrolhead celeb or two was turned up in one of their flash motors without the promise of a big wedge for the effort, I am sure there are more entertaining things that the money can be spent on other than appearance fees...

...a second PistonLoo for starters

I agree that if you have to pay them, sod them.

I meant invite him along as a PetrolHead not as celebs...

After Top Gear tonight and what Jay Kay said about his Muira SV, he might just come along... If he doesn't he's a bit of a hypocrite

I hope that a Petrolhead celebrity would turn up just because they liked cars...I'm more of the "lets get p1ssed & talk cars with friends" persuasion myself - although if Jay & his Enzo turned up...

I remember being at Littlecote some years back (Peter de Savory's pad) for the first Harley Rally there, The usual Harley Hierarchy were there, mingling and chatting to all and sundry (as usual), and Terence Trent Darby who came over all "superstar" and got ignored.

I'd have thought the best thing would be to let them know about the event, but not actually 'invite' them. That way they won't think you will try to use their name to advertise it.
