Well I cant do weekends. Hence me wanting an evening blast, plus the road is very busy in the day, but dead after 7 or so

The road is always reasonably busy, you just need to avoid peak hours. Some lovely views so daylight is a definite plus.

Some while ago I was talking to a friendly BiB and the Cat & Fiddle is marked for aircraft/helicopter surveillance. Just thought I'd mention this even though I know that none of the totally resposible PH'ers would ever conceivably exceed the speed limit except Petrol Ted

Ah... that was the beauty of it. I was having a good blast along the road and managed to overtake the police car whilst still observing the limits

If you all follow PWIG in his rover .. then you won't get done for speeding ... causing an obstruction maybe instead

I'll come along. A Better road is Long Hill and it's also less policed at the minute and as it goes from Buxton (where the Cat and Fiddle ends) to Whaley Bridge we could do that at the same time.

Agreed that's also a quality road. The one from Whaley to Macc isn't bad either to complete the triangle.

I got pulled by a copper on Long hill.. but never got in any trouble on the cat... go figure lol

Theres a lovely corner on Long Hill too... long left hander that tightens right at the end (coming from buxton) that crosses the valley

I agree, great corner although I prefer it going uphill (towards Buxton) so that it's opening out and you can really get the power down. I live near the bottom of Long Hill so it's my local test track.
