What cars should not attend TVR meets?

Yes I do have a TVR. It's an '87 350i Wedge and no I don't have the Mercury Montego GT, thanks to a nice lady that forgot to turn off her indicator...

Almost all of the TVR owners I've met are great people but some do look down on other marques.

I went to a PH meet and a guy got out of a very nice TVR so I said 'nice car' and we had a brief chat about it. He asked me 'Which one are you in?' and I pointed at the one of only 3 non-TVRs and he said 'Oh' and walked off!!!

Maybe I should have said Elise-ist rather than elitist??

Nacnud - if it's reserved parking and there's signs up then he's being a bit cheeky but he may be saving for a TVR (hence driving a beaten up XM) and if someone shows up and tells him his car isn't worthy to park alongside then it's hardly going to encourage himis it?? No problem, I can't see it spoiling a meet, that's all

The XM owner already has a Tiv and was only in the XM because he was hosting the outlaws and brought them to the Tiv meet for a Sunday roast. Top idea I reckon! Wonder how much ear ache he got when they got home

The grass parking is not a general parking area but you are right, it's not reserved. My original post already noted that there was a minor Mini gathering and we often get interesting non-Tivs brought by TVR enthusiasts.

All of these use the club parking and you'll hear no complains from any of us with Tivs as the drivers are all passionate about TVRs and driving. However, those of us turning up in Euroboxes (me included at the last meet) usually park in the general pub parking. It's just being bloody minded or extremely inconsiderate to do anything else!

Also, the non-Tivs that go onto the grass usually park facing the Tivs rather than break up the line of Tivs. Not only is this very considerate (it is a TVR meet after all), but it means that photos of the meet stand a much better chance of making it into Sprint!

I turn up to all the meets I go to in my everyday car, used to be the sticker adorned astra, now the focus estate, still with TVRCC/PH stickers etc, and will continue to do so until the M has been completed (this summer, all being well!), and only once has someone visibly taken offence to it, by doing exactly what you described. I moved to a different meet, and get on great now. Certainly the few PH meets/runs i've been to, it hasn't mattered what you're in, just that you're there. I'm passing the Beds meet area on sunday afternoon, may pop in, keep an eye out for the focus

I regularly turn up in the Supra

Just got it insured tonight, new battery aswell, and it had new plugs about 3 months ago whilst being laid up.
It is running really sweetly.

Off for an MOT tomorrow, fingers crossed as it has only done about 18 miles in the last 2 years

A few years ago "A TVR" appeared to be the correct answer at the Hants meet, which had become a branch of the Subaru Drivers Club.

Hence it is nice to see TVR's at a TVR meet, and we usually have a few S's even in the snow.

However it is nice to see people interested in TVR's and in other Sports Cars - even Yank Tanks
