I've recently bought a kit-car with a standard 1.4 k-series with multipoint injection.

It's hesitating to no particular pattern, does it hot/cold, low revs and at hight revs. Although it does seem to idle high (1500-2000, and pulse when hot) I've just got some new plugs and injector cleaner just in case its getting clogged up, I know it could be any number of things, but if anyone's got any ideas of where I could start to look that would be much appriciated.

Check the idle speed control valve fitted to the throttle body, these can stick/generally play up when clogged with carbon.
Do a check for all vac hoses, to make sure of no splits/cuts/hanging off etc.
If youre handy with a multimeter, let me know via this forum and ill send you the specs for the management system, so you can check out all the sensors etc.

Check the small vacuum pipe that goes from the inlet manifold to the ECU (actualy the MAP sensor within the ECU). These can fill with oil, which slows the response time of the MAP sensor and can cause hesitation.
