Any recommendations for custom rad or recoring a rad?

I need a bigger than standard Rad on my car, can anyone recommend any 'affordable' custom rad makers. Or maybe someone who could recore my original to a better standard?

Thanks, I emailed them yesterday and got a reply - ouch!!!

I'm sure they offer quality work, but wow are there prices a bit high for my liking. Recoring would come in at £400 and another couple of hundred quid for a custom rad

I tried phoning the guy who made my rad a few years ago, although havent got a response from him. I could do with a new one myself.

How many rows does your rad have at the moment. Any good rad workshop should be able to recore your rad , add an extra row, and use the existing end tanks.

By way of illustration Grantham Radiators does a lot of work for the Cobra enthusiasts ( generally known for running large capacity engines) and their SD1 rad, recored with three rows, and easily capable of cooling a yank engine up to 7 litres and beyond, is priced around £150 plus vat.

They may well be able to recore yours for less.

Quite true, there will be dozens of radiator shops all over the country that can do such work like recoring or making copper rads etc.

There would be less who can do proper custom alloy radiator fabrication, but for most cases that sort of work isnt needed. It just looks nicer lol

I want a nice new shiny alloy one though

I've used http://www.proalloy.co.uk/ but I doubt they would re-core yours, they make complete new units but they are incredibly well made and custom fitted.
