bit off topic, but you can pick up a brand spanking new ford 302 small block from your local garage (would that be special order? hehe) for about £3K. these units normaly produce around 300bhp but there are loads of tujning potentical in them. also they are a little lighter than the Chevy.

alternatiley you could go for a crate unit. i have read about new crate unit for under $2K!!! then it would just ne a case of bolting on some performance parts to get to your disired figure. take a look in the technicle saection of HOT ROD mags web site to find where to get your engine from. their web site is www.hotrod.com

thanks Chris.

The Ford small block is quite a bit wider than the chevy IIRC? But that is interesting - mmm 302 in a transit

if you really want to get thinking then i wonder if a BB Chevy would fit in? roll on 750bhp on normal fuel N/A and over 1000bhp with a ProChrager on there again on pump. now that could be interesting!!!!!

may need to be mid engined thoguh!!

thanks Chris.

I've seen an SBC in a transit, in the regular engine bay, and that was a bloody tight fit.

In the interest of self-preservation I think the GM572 should probably be mid-mounted But that would be highly amusing
