Hi Guys
Can anyone recomend a gearbox thats GOOD and cheep for a rover V8 in a Triumph 2500

Whats wrong with the SD1 LT77 box? can get a 2nd hand one for around 100 quid alternativly a T5 from a TVR, this'll be around 500 quid with appropiate bellhousing tho'

The orig. Sd1 Box is an Auto!!! so is the Triumphs
I HATE AUTOS!

In that case I recommend a bog standard cheap as chips LT77 (Vitesse manual).

Thanks for those I'll start my hunt!!!
Ok the next step! ( I'm very green doing this)
I rip out the old 2500 eng. and box Out the top. then slide in the V8 (with or with out box at this stage???) from underneath and bolt into place ( making up brackets as I go??) Then it's the home strait?????
This sounds too easy!!! What will go wrong?

Qite a lot of things can go wrong, but with a bit of forethought all surmountable, Propshaft - will need the lengthing, changing the flange? Is the existing rad up to the job? Electric fuel pump required? Fuel lines sufficent Ø from the tank?, Will it fit under the bonnet?, Is there room for the steering column next to the engine / exhaust
