Oh, wait only 2 are at TDC-regardless of type of crank(do'h). But does that mean with a cross over type exhaust a dual plane crankshaft engine can be made to sound like a single-plane crankshaft engine?

Since you've cracked the flat-plane crank problem, can anyone explain how a rotary engine (aeroplane, not Wankel) works? I can't see how the con-rods don't go straight through the crankshaft!

Sorry to drag this one up but How Stuff Works has just posted this

Ifanybody wants a flat plane crank for a RV8 I have a 5.0 crankshaft pattern that could be modified to make a flat plane item?

Call me cynical, but TVR wouldn't be using a flat plane crank in their V8 cos it's cheaper to make would they?

I'm sure that they were totaly focused on the engineering...
