I'd prefer a bit of flange, do you think that Ebay thing will produce a gas tight connection?

VW use the same thing on many of their cars....so yes they do work.

It's a full 360 sleeve for a butt joint and you can also get them in stepped for where it may have been a slip joint before, or a slightly different size mismatch

eg VW's. If you can find one that suits your size....all good.

yes And VAG still do they have been using that method for longer than I care to remember its a natty design wink thin sleeve within a sleeve in various O.D
