Vauxhall Insignia 2010 engine rattle/knock
Discussion
Hello all,
Hoping someone can shed some light on what's causing my car to sound like a bag of nails.
About a week ago started it up after work and there was a very audible knocking (tapping?) Noise. No engine warning lights so I thought maybe a lose exhaust bracket so slowly pulled off, drove fine and noise completely stopped. But today it has returned, again only noticable when idling at a junction and still no faults being reported, drives 100% normal.
Have uploaded a short video with audio.

Thanks

If it's that intermittent random noise during the video...it sure doesnt sound good...although wouldnt be convinced it is the engine itself.
Doesnt even sound like a DMF..although that would be a potential candidate if one is fitted.
or maybe clutched alternator pulley or something
Would really need to see/hear in person to attempt to diagnose.

Yes it's the random intermittent knocking noise you can hear in the back ground. Sometimes it is more continuous, but Everytime I got out to record it it would stop. Will try and get a better video.Doesnt even sound like a DMF..although that would be a potential candidate if one is fitted.

I have a 2009 2.0 cdti. Over 2000 revs it sounds like a trackter. I've gave it an oil change to see if that made a difference, witch it did until the other day and its doing it again. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I'm being told its bottom end. Any advice I can do or isit gone
