Hi guys,

I was wondering if you could help or offer some advise please?

kia ceed 2008 2.0 crdi

I am looking for the pipe which is the inlet fuel pipe for the high pressure pump, it seems like a rubber pipe with 2 metal clips each end and has started to leak diesel out quite bad, bad enough that you can see it dripping and the car stinks of diesel if I use the blowers.

I have rang Kia and they have provided a parts diagram for me, and I can see what parts I need, now the only problem is they do not know how long this will take to be delivered, I wanted this asap really. does anybody know where I am likely to be able to get this pipe? it doesn't seem like a special piece of pipe at all, I would have thought a diesel specialist would stock it but I rang one earlier who said it would be main dealer only or I thought they might keep this sort of pipe and cut me one to length?

Any ideas? I have uploaded the parts diagram where I have circled which pipe it is, and also where on the fuel pump it is, I suppose it could be likely that the connector on the fuel pump is leaking and not the pipe? making it seem as if it is the pipe.

second picture shows the 2 pipes on top, it is the inlet one of these. 3rd pic shows this pipe cut from a random ebay listing so you can see what sort of diameter and material its made from.

Looks like pretty standard low pressure fuel pipe to me, the issue you will have is that if you just get "pipe off the roll" cut to length, when you bend it to fit the bends WILL close up in the corners, which is why they are formed in the bends.

If it were mine, I would be taking the pipe off, checking the ends/fittings to make sure they are OK & not the problem and doing a bench test on the hose also to see exactly what the issue is & then (assuming the problem is the pipe) getting a longer section of pipe to make the bends longer & so they close up less as a make do solution while waiting for the correct hose.

Hi there,

Thanks for the response, I am going to go to my local motor factors to get some pipe as a temporary solution.

does this sort of pipe come as a standard size, or would I be better taking it off the car and in to measure against whatever pipe they are likely to give me?

Thanks,

There are standard sizes as in 6mm/8mm/10mm etc, whether yours is I have no idea obviously, so take it in.

Don't forget you will need to be able to bleed/purge the line when you have replaced it.

Thanks for the help guys, I brought some new fuel line from my local motor factors which came with 2 new clamps and this seems to have done the trick, the diameter of the pipe was 7.5mm for anybody looking to do the same job in the future.
