Hi Guys,

Memory Lapse I'm afraid.

I am rebuilding the engine ancillaries and have a frayed throttle cable end.
I have bought a new cable but when I look at attaching it to the throttle actuation mechanism I am sure that I have lost summat.
Could someone please take a photo of theirs so that I can see what's missing ?

Ta !

Bottom one is the stopper that sits against the idle screw.. Top is where the linkage to your other throttle should be?!

^^^ yes and you need a new throttle cable there PJ smile

(I found that removing the adjustable brake pedal helped when my throttle cable needed to be replaced)

I recommend changing that nasty heatshield while you are at it

"16mm Fire Sleeve Braid Flame Heat Reflective Shield" or "HILFLEX-HRS-16.0"

I'm about to use some on the gearbox reverse switch wiring, as it all melted when it was on the rollers in Chesterfield

Thanks aide ! My back has gone into spasm just at the thought of the positions I'm going to have to get into.

Brilliant Paul and Thanks for the references thumbup

Allways fancied doing that
but
Do you cut the length of heatshield and then wrap around the appropriate cables and seal up
because it appears impossible to thread it, complete, down the infinitely complicated spaghetti
paths that exist in that area ?

The throttle cable runs around that quarter segment. The top hole is for the rod that joins each side together.

It's easy to fit heat shield around most hoses, but I agree it's more challenging when you address cables

I have fitted the same heat shield around the cable used for the Crank Position Sensor, but I had to disassemble the connector using a kit like this first

Can't say about that plug, but most of the plugs/connectors have a sticky out flat tab that holds the pin in place. You slide the right tool (or a small instrument screwdriver) down to push the tab in so you can pull the pin out.
