Hi guys.i desperately need some help had a costly engine replacement on my st and now my replacement engine is giving me issues.it Keeps throwing up P0017 code.Spent money on cam sensors and a crank sensor and even had the timing checked but it still hasn’t solved the issue.The car pulls fine but somethings Norbert right somewhere.Im out of ideas and fast running out of money trying to get this car back to how it should be.Any help would be appreciated

Take it to a decent garage who k ow what they are doing!

Anyone can plug a cheap code reader in, it won't tell you what's caused it. That's where paying an expert comes in!

I’d be checking the wiring if it’s had a replacement engine, could be the loom was damaged when removing the old engine.

I had it to a garage and had it plugged In by the guy who fitted the engine.Hes seems to be guessing at what’s next to me

The error code relates to crankshaft/camshaft sensor position correlation

Engine timed up wrong if it had a belt change recently

I took it back for timing doing

The issue you describe can be caused by:

Duff sensor - You say they have been changed

Badly timed engine - You say it has been checked

Wiring issue - Has this been checked?

No the wiring hasn’t been checked I guess that’s will be the next thing to be looked out now.
