OK I am having an intercooler/radiator fitted, and relocation of the battery to the boot of my car, but the guy doing the work is taking forever. I was told it would be ready for Oct '05, but I am still waiting.

Admittedly I am not in any rush for it to be done, but I do want it done right.

Can anyone recommend a good garage/workshop that can under take the completion of this work? Needs to be located around north Kent/SE London.

Thanks
Fish

if you tell someone your'e in no rush, the chances are that if theres not much money in the job - they will put it right to the bottom of the pile.

But when told that it would be ready in Oct last year, I would expect it to have been done by now. Rush or not.

Sorry if that sounds nasty, I dont mean it that way. He does also know that money is not the issue.

Jimmy, surely it doesnt matter what car it is. The work is fairly general stuff.

Find a local race/rally team, they'll be used to bashing metal and fitting ducts etc. It doesn't sound as if you are after anything particularly difficult, just needs somebody who will actually get on with it.

My Dad is in Essex (nr Basildon) and between him and all his chums he might be able to help if you are stuck.

He normally just does basic service/repair work but also works on my race car, and other oddities.

Let me know.

Silly Question maybe, but why not do it yourself? All you are doing is extending the positive and negative leads. A simple clamp would do to hold the battery in a stable position. 2 hours work maximum.

apologies for a bit of a thread hijack, but what guage cable do you need for this and can you recommend a place to buy it?

You still haven't said what car you got, It's a tad difficult to quote Cable sizes, It could be a Caterham or some German thing that needs a link to the national grid to run it!
I will check, But I'm sure you'd only have to extend the positive lead, unless you got a plastic or wooden car, NEED MORE INFO!!
I normally play with real electric, But I have people in the know!

Paul, its not just a case of moving the battery, I also require mounts to be made for the I/C and the rad, with this being the main part of the work I require doing, I still fail to see what difference the make of car matters.

Once again, sorry if this sounds snotty, but making things is not car specific. I would take this work on, but there are 2 reasons I do not.

1, Work is taking up far too much time.
2, I cant weld.

Scroll right to the bottom of:
www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/VWPweb2000/cables/cables.html

get the thickest you can manage, you will suprised how much volt drop you get accross thinner stuff.
