This thread mentions FSE fuel pressure regulator failures.

What were the failures, and how did they manifest themselves?

Thanks

Paul - currently suspecting his fuel pump or regulator for strange stalling behaviour after full throttle run.

I've been running the FSE rising rate version (marketed as a Power Boost Valve well, wehatever) for the past 5 years or so.

2 points:

* It takes time for the regulator to stabilize at a set base pressure (that's why the supplier told buyers to re-set the pressure after a triple figure amount of miles, the exact number escapes me) and can very wildly vary before that. Mine has been proven to be stable and reliable on/between various tuning sessions, but a friend of mine running the same valve in (basically) the same car said that when his mechanic went on to do his yearly tune-up work, he ofund the base pressure to be 1.2 bar where it should have been 3.2!!!

* The bolts holding top and bottom 'halves' of the regulator can loosen, resulting in a nice fuel spray over your engine (and luckily, usually a no-start condition). Mine did that on first start up after removal and subsequent re-installation, between which lied nine months becuase of a performance engine rebuild. Again, it performed faultlessly after retightening, so I left it be.

The failures I've seen have all been the internal diaphrams failing and letting fuel past, causing lean running.
