Does the car have the rectangle cobra alarm fob, or the oval lexus branded one?

If its the rectangle one (cobra system) they are very easy to 'spike' when jump starting, trick is to turn side lights on before applying power.

Bad news is if you've 'spiked' the unit it will require replacement IIRC

the immobiliser will have a reset procedure to reset the key to the immoberliser and sync

this is because you have run down 2 batterys

the main battery and th immobiliser battery

Dave, have you checked on www.lexusownersclub.co.uk?
