Ive been offered an alfa 166 2.5 V6 24V auto realy cheap , BUT its been took on a test drive today by the garage which took it in part x and its driving some what low on power , its been put through diagnostics and everythings ok, all thats been found is a moulded plastic pipe which connects the inlet manifold to the crank case breather is split , could this be the reason for lack of power???? the engine runs ok but its just lacking power ?

Help!!

Could be, air leaks on the inlet hoses, they are pigs to seal and not cheap, also check the cam timing, you need the factory spec cam tools and a tdc gauge to do the job properly, half a tooth out will cause problems! (camwheels are vereniers, the factory tool locks the cams by replacing a cam bearing cap on each of the 4 cams. Very few non specialised garages have the proper kit to do the job.

Beta tools have the cam locking blocks for around £70+vat on thier current offer sheet.

hope this helps
