Hi all,

Just after some advice for removing synthetic oil spills, and the associated stains, from the cam/head cover on my engine? It has a red crackle finish like on a ferrari, but alas is just a honda !!

Any tips gratefully received!

Andy.

Try brake cleaner and a stiff brush, best take the cam cover off first will make the job easier, if its a civic type r it about a five min job to remove the cam cover.

Thanks for the info! but what's break cleaner, and I'm guessing there's engine bits under the red bit! If you knew me, the further I'm kept away from them the better lol!!

A few years ago I was working in the States and bought a bottle of "Dave's Insanity Sauce". It's a hot chilly sauce with the emphasis on hot. On the back of the bottle it said "...also useful for removing oil stains from tarmac."

I have heard you can buy it in some supermarkets over here now.

I'm not helping am I?
