Can anyone help?

I've got a 98 vectra 1.8 as me daily driver, and it's just started stalling randomly (often after a motorway run or something, just as I get to the roundabouts and come to a stop, but sometimes just when driving along). Not really got a clue what might be wrong, and tend to get ripped off at garages so would like a reasonable idea of the problem before I get someone to fix it.

Any ideas?

there is a breather hole in the throttle body, some have it in the manifold its critical that this is kept clear on vectras,i dont work on them now im a little rusty on them but remebre that this being kept clean cured all sorts on these vectras.

We used to have a 98 Vectra with the same problem, kept stalling when approaching traffic lights - Revs dropped and then it cut out?

It was the Idle Control valve apparently, the offending item was cleaned up and put back on, and it never happened again.

Worth checking out.

common probs on these cars are as stated, Idle speed control valve has to be main candidate, also if yours hasn't got a box in the breather pipe (right hand front of cam cover as you look at the engine), get the modification kit and fit it(from Vauxhall dealer), clean out the throttle housing with carb/inlet plenum cleaner.

hope this helps
