The Battery on my vette needs renewing, its a 75 amp item with side screw in terminals,i can get one off the shelf at a dealership over in Kent for the sum of £150 if needed.
Out of curiosity i tried the local Vauxhall dealership, being the car is GM and they have a side screw in terminal battery for a Sentra 2 litre diesel which would be a lot cheaper, the only difference is it is a 72 amp item.
Would it be suitable to replace the 75 amp version?

The CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) is more important than outright capacity, especially on something with a large engine. The the CCA's are similar, if it physically fits and the terminals are on the correct sides then 3Ah difference is irrelevant.

Look in the yellow pages for your local motor factors and ask them. I got a Bosch silver from Andrew Page's for about half the price Halfords were asking for a bog standard thing.

Thanks for the advice chaps,i rang the dealership back to see if they could fill in the simple questions like Size and Cold Cranking Amps, after about 10 minutes on the phone i gave up as we seemed to be going around in circles, but basically they didnt know,so i drove over to Kent and paid the £150 for the standard battery.
