According to his site, RPI is doing brand new 4.0 engines for £1295 . seems a good buy to me.

'Brand new' 4.0 Rover V8 engines cross bolted, individually hand built & balanced 'at component level' plus, (as std.) dynamically balanced & offered at only £1295.00 while current stocks/supplies last!!

Right, miserable thread hijack here, but if I wanted to buy an engine like that, and rear-mount it, what gearbox/cluth options would I have?

they put rover v8's in the back of 4x4's by using std gearbox and turning the axles upside down.
Although your gate pattern would be upside down also.

to stop it having 1 forward gear and 5 reverse gears. The engine gets tured around. You get over this by turning the axles(well the diff anyway) upside down. I had heard this was a bit risky as you could loose all your diff oil very quickly as it drains out a hole normally in the top but now on the bottom.

As above... and yes you would have to move the breather. This is the same concept as the porche g50 in the back of an ultima; its upside down. The filler is now the drain plug!

Nah... things will only start to get interesting when you add a 200 bhp shot of nitrous to that thing...

So, how much?
