03 Impreza recon engine

Need a rebuilt Impreza WRX (03) motor.

Can anybody recommend a good outfit for an exchange engine..?

Where are you located, and what is the damage with the current one ?


API seem to get decent enough feedback.

Thanks...they don't have one at the moment.

Big end bearing is shot, with possible crank damage, resting in Chesterfield...

Thanks, the motor is in good hands, just need the nod on a GOOD recon merchant anywhere in the UK.

If its only a big end, then TBH, any good competent garage should be able to rebuild your engine with a new crank, and rods if any are damaged.

At least then you are sure of what you have, engine nos will remain the same etc.
I dont know of that many engine re-con places to be fair......any that are screwed over here, we just rebuild them. Its rare that they are un-fixable. Even if you just bought a good short motor, and slapped your heads etc onto them.

Ring the clinic, ask for Adam or Kev, Say you know me, he will laugh and probably put the phone down on you... ring back.. and see if they can help you out.
