Horrible. No-one wants to experience this in a transverse car, in an inline car it would be horrific.

Exactly, which is why we shouldn't be lightening cast flywheels.

Also, it should be pointed out that surface temperatures on flywheels often reach 700C. Before you consider an aluminium flywheel check out the alloy's properties at those temperatures. It may head you in the direction of a steel one.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I will be getting a new heavy duty clutch and lighter flywheel soon..I'll let you know what I think and who I use.
