Which gearbox is it, is it the stanpart box with a bell housing to match the B series engine or a B series box as fitted to MG and austins etc.

It is the standard bell to match the b series engine.

Which gearbox though.

And what is the reason for needing it. Is yours broken?

I have lost reverse on the box. It is a marina standard 1800 tc with the standard gearbox and bell housing.

Take the box off and have a look. Probably a loose selector, when I were a lad we were allways fixing marina boxes in the garage. They are quite simple to fix. If you dont feel confident take the box to your local gearbox specialist.

the pin that holds the gearlever used to work out on mine - then the lever used to spin around uncontrollably. a jubillee clip was the fix

My 2nd car was a TC, seems like only yesterday (+25 years). Best of luck...

It's sounding like it's the stanpart box as fitted to the 1300 marinas, midget 1500s, spitfires (and most similar sized triumphs).

As long as you can find one with the correct input shaft you would be able to swap your bellhousing across.

The other option if it is a weak box is to install an MGB box (god knows why they didn't) with or without overdrive, they sell for peanuts and provided you look after them last for ever. But it will be a longer job than straight swap.

However by the sounds of your issue it shouldn't be a hard job to mend your box.
